Chapter 106
Henry thought, “No one can refuse an invitation from the Clusian Racing Association. It isn’t just an honor, it also means be a wild racer anymore. She’d have backing. He was confident that Zoe would agree.
But to his shock, Zoe’s response was as blunt as it was decisive. She said, “Not interested. Don’t waste y
your time.
11 once inside, she won’t
There she was, turning down the Clusian Racing Association like it was nothing. The crowd, including Henry, was stunned into silence.
But Henry wasn’t giving up that easily. He pressed on. Just name your price. Anything you want, and it’s yours if you join us,”
Zue didn’t even bother to respond. She simply rolled up the car window.
Henry pounded on the glass, his desperation evident. He said. “Please, you have to join the Clusian Racing Association. I’ll wait. No matter what you isk for…
Zoe had lost her patience. She said to the driver, “Could you please drive through these cars and get us out of here?”
The driver beside was already wide–eyed in shock. During their conversation, he recognized Henry This is Henry, right? I’ve seen his race,” he mattered to himself
He thought, ‘Henry, one of the top racers in Clusia, practically begged a teenage girl to join their association. But the girl looked utterly bored What’s going on here?
The driver felt like he was in a sci–fi movie. But since Zoe was the passenger, the driver started the car and sped off as Zoe requested.
The whole ride, the driver was on cloud nine. He thought, “What a day! I will brag about this to my wife tonight
When Zoe arrived at the military training camp, most of the participants who had successfully registered were already there.
This training camp wasn’t just a simple drill, it was more like a brutal elimination contest. To become part of Shawn’s team one had to be one in a million. It wasn’t going to be easy.
A group of people had gathered here, surely to undergo hellish, grueling training to stay in Shawn’s camp and work for him.
were only five girls, including herself. The other four had buzz cuts and blended in with the guys so
As Zoe scanned the crowd, she noticed there wi well that one couldn’t tell them apart.
Zoe, with her long hair and naturally stunning looks, stood out like a sore thumb. Immediately, some of the guys started whistling and teasing her. But Zor ignored them all. Her goal was simple Shawn
Philip spotted Zoe in the crowd. He rushed over with a hint of surprise on his face. He said excitedly, “Zoe, you made it I thought you didn’t cut I’m glad you’re here.”
His excitement didn’t last long, though. A whistle blew, curting through the air and sadlencing everyone.
Following the whistle was a stern, middle–aged voice, saying, “Quiet, quiet! I see everyone’s here. All team members, emergency assembly! Now, start marching in place.
“Good. I’m your drill instructor, but you don’t need to know my name. Because many of you are going to be weeded out in my tough training” Then a man in dark green fatigues, holding a whistle, strode forward. His presence was imposing, and his demeanor was nothing short of authoritative. As he spoke, he paced back and forth, blowing the whistle intermittently.
Perhaps because it was their first time participating in such a training session, everyone in the group was in a state of excitement. As a result, they quickly lined up
and began following the drill instructor’s commands.
The drill instructor continued, “You’ve all heard the rumors. This is going to be hell. If you can’t keep up, you can pack your bags and go home.
I won’t waste words. Let me make one thing clear: I can’t stand quitters. If you think you’re not up for this, get out now! So! Who’s ready to give
up?
No one answered the command
The drill sergeant smirked and pointed to a pile of 99–pound combat backpacks.
As everyone followed his gaze and saw the heavy backpacks, an ominous feeling swept thưrough the group
The drill sergeant barked, “No complaints? Then let’s get staned. Grab one of these 00–pound packs, strap it on, and turn left. We’re starting a 12.5- mile combat run, right here, right now!”

The crowd erupted in groans. They complained inside, What the hell! A 12.5–mile run with a 99–pound pack? That’s like carrying a full–grown woman on your back.
“Even the toughest recruits will feel a chill run down their spines. This is beyond brutal. It is insane.
“Got a problem with that?” the drill sergeant asked. His eyes turned cold, scanning the crowd.
The recruits quickly shut up, but a few brave souls decided to make some smart remarks. Whether they were trying to defend themselves, tease the girls, or just show off, their eyes landed on Zoe.
Zoe was the smallest, most delicate–looking person in the group. Her long hair made her stand out even more.
Grinning and whistling, some men started mocking Zoc. One said, “Sir, no complaints here!”
Another said, “Sir, we’re just wondering why there’s a little stick in our group. It looks like she might break under that weight.”
Someone chimed in. “Exactly! This is supposed to be a man’s game, but here we have a tiny thing I bet that pack weighs more than she does. Poor girl.”
One said, “Seriously, what’s your name, little girl: Did you get lost? How did you end up at Shawn’s recruitment camp?”
A person said. Tm genuinely worried. After 12.3 miles, she’s going to be pancaked under that pack.”
Others burst into laughter.
