Chapter 188

Half a month later, Isabella Sinclair and Alexander Kingsley were once again taking Amelia Kingsley to Vrining for treatment.

“I hope everything goes smoothly this time,” Isabella murmured with a soft smile, securing the luggage in the car before gently taking Amelia’s small hand.

The little girl followed closely, her tiny fingers clutching the delicate ceramic doll that bore an uncanny resemblance to her.

“Don’t worry,” Alexander reassured them, his voice steady. “The Kingsley Group arranged a private jet. Security won’t be an issue.” His gaze softened as he glanced at Amelia. “She hasn’t let go of that doll since you gave it to her. Sleeps with it every night.”

Isabella crouched to Amelia’s eye level, her tone warm. “Really? Once you’re all better, we’ll make more together. Would you like that?” Amelia nodded, though a flicker of uncertainty lingered in her wide eyes.

Soon, they were on their way. The private jet meant they could bypass the crowded terminals, boarding instead from the secluded FBO. Alexander had left nothing to chance—security was airtight, ensuring no unwanted eyes could follow them.

As they drove, Amelia suddenly pointed toward an ice cream cart parked by the roadside.

Isabella paused. It was the first time in ages the little girl had shown interest in anything outside her shell.

Kneeling beside her, Isabella asked gently, “Do you want some, sweetheart?” Amelia didn’t answer, but her grip on the doll tightened, her gaze fixed on the colorful treats.

Alexander, remembering how his late brother used to indulge Amelia’s little cravings, gave a small smile. “Let’s get her one.”

At the cart, Isabella sampled a scoop first. “It’s delicious,” she said, turning to Alexander with a playful glint in her eyes. “Mr. Kingsley, care to try?” She offered him a melon-flavored cone.

Despite his doctor’s warnings about cold foods irritating his stomach, Alexander accepted it from her. He took a careful bite. “Not bad.”

“Of course not! Melon ice cream is perfect for summer,” Isabella declared, handing Amelia her own cone. “Here you go, darling.”

For a brief, blissful moment, the three of them stood there, laughing under the sun—completely unaware of the hidden camera capturing their every move from across the street.

Meanwhile, Tabitha Redford scrolled through the photos she’d taken, her lips curling into a smirk. After the recent scandal at Charisma Company, her entire team had been fired—except her. She’d played sick, avoiding involvement in the setup, and escaped the fallout.

But her time at the company had been miserable. The cold shoulders, the whispers—each one stoked her bitterness.

Now, she had her revenge.

Anonymously, she uploaded the photos to the company’s internal forum, pairing them with a venomous caption:

Gold-digger alert! Isabella Sinclair is desperate to win over Alexander Kingsley and his illegitimate child. Look at his face—he’s already disgusted. How long before he dumps her?

The post exploded.

“So that’s why she’s been acting so high and mighty!” one comment read.

“Rich men are so predictable. Poor kid, stuck with a stepmother like her,” another sneered.

“Did you hear? She was the other woman in her last relationship. Fresh out of a divorce and already scheming again.”

Tabitha reveled in the vitriol, her fingers flying as she uploaded more photos from different angles, each one carefully chosen to paint Isabella in the worst possible light.

“Disgusting. Climbing the ladder by sleeping with the boss,” someone wrote.

“She needs to be fired. Now.”

The thread climbed to the top of the forum, drawing in employees from every department. The anonymity of the platform stripped away restraint, unleashing a wave of cruelty.

“Get her out of this company!”

“Who does she think she is?”

Tabitha leaned back, satisfaction curling through her.

This was just the beginning.
