Chapter 65
“You don’t believe me?” Willow pinched Arthur’s ankle and continued the examination. “You’re good. It’s swollen because you twisted it, but your bone is fine.”
She stood up, extended her hand, pried open his shirt, and touched his chest. “Does it hurt?”
“Not really.”
What was she touching him for?
“No major issues. Just get an X–ray. If there’s nothing serious, the director of the Surgical Department will take care of you.” She jotted down the diagnosis and handed it to him.
Arthur hinted at her. “Am I leaving in this state?”
His thigh was still exposed.
“Got it.” Willow removed her white coat and put it over his thigh. “The nurse will change you into a loose hospital gown. You’ll probably receive stitches on your cut. I suggest you be hospitalized for a day.”
“Thanks, Dr. Quade,” he thanked her politely, then wheeled himself out. He had just turned to leave when he cocked his head at her again.
She was confused. “What’s wrong?”
“Are you single, Dr. Quade?”
Willow’s eyes narrowed slightly, a

to pursue me?”
Arthur wore a gentlemanly smile. “So we can be friends. But if you’re taken, I’ll forget about it. I don’t wanna affect your relationship.”
She grabbed her business card with two fingers. “I’m not taken, but I’m highly critical when choosing a partner.”
He wheeled himself over and retrieved the card. “Well, with credentials like yours, you certainly have every right to be picky.”
Arthur finished the conversation with a gentle smile. “I’ll see you around.”
As he left, Willow’s lips slowly curled into a smirk. “What a pretentious prick.”

Carmen hurried over to her side. “Where have you been, Lo? Why didn’t you pick up my calls?”
“I was working and didn’t hear them,” Willow replied, ready to head upstairs.
However, an upset Ronald roared, “Where do you think you’re going?”
“To the room to rest. Just because you guys aren’t sleeping doesn’t mean I have to stay up with you, right?”
“Get over here now!” He slammed his hand on the table, the force reverberating through the room and leaving her no choice but
to concede.
“A month a
ago, I informed you about the charity gala happening tonight and that you will meet with the son of the Jones family.
Yet, you disappeared without a trace without informing us! What was that for?”
Willow was calm. “And I also remember telling you that I have no interest in Leonard Jones, let alone form a marriage alliance
with the Jones family.”
“You have no say in this!” Ronald pointed at her nose. “I painstakingly raised you, and it’s about time you do something for me in
return!
“You know how my company faced a financial crisis in the past two years, and things were already tough. Now, with Wilson
suppressing us, we’re completely stuck.
“Your marriage alliance with the Joneses is for the sake of the Quades! Without their help, you’re forcing me into bankruptcy!”
A faint smile played on Willow’s lips. “Oh, Dad. Your company’s poor management is solely because you can’t defeat Will. If you were more competent, the Quade family would’ve been under your command by
