Chapter 67
The bruises on Serena’s face made Lauren feel saddened yet angered. “That scumbag did that to your beautiful face? Knife–I
need a knife. I’m going to chop his wiener off!”
know!!
“It’s fine. He suffered way more injuries than me.” Serena was surprised. “Also, how did you know I’m here?”
“I have Wilson’s assistant’s number. His name was… Sebastian… or something. Anyway, I couldn’t reach you all morning, so I called him. Then, I found out you got abducted by Shawn!”
Her eyes reddened. “Thank goodness you’re okay, Rina. Otherwise, I’d be plagued with guilt for the rest of my life. I should’ve
stuck with you last night!”
Aaron chimed in, “She went crazy as soon as she heard about you this morning. While we were on the way here, she cursed Shawn
about a million times.”
Serena chuckled. “None of us could’ve foreseen it. Things might not have been that different even if you were there, Laurie. Don’t
blame yourself for that.”
Lauren, full of concern, asked, “Are you getting discharged now? Are you sure you’re fine?”
“I am. It’s just some bruises and scrapes. I’ll be good as new after some rest.”
“All you have to do is rest and do nothing else. Look, you have a helper right here.” Lauren looked at Aaron.
He quickly offered, “Let me help you with the discharge procedures, Ms. Judd. Wait right here.”
Serena looked at his retreating figure, then looked at Lauren. “Anyway, you left quite early last night.”
Lauren appeared awkward. “I’m not sure if I drank something weird last night, but I got awfully dizzy. Then, Stupidron decided
to take me home. I was super drunk when we were in the car. You know how I get when I’m drunk…”
“And?”
“And… we kissed.”
Serena’s eyes widened. “So, are you guys, like, boyfriend and girlfriend now?”
Lauren’s cheeks flushed with a pink hue. “I guess so. You know what? They’re right–alcohol is bad. If it weren’t for this, I would’ve waited sometime before saying yes to him. Gosh, he really got lucky this time.”
Soon, Aaron completed Serena’s discharge procedure. As the trio prepared to depart, Lauren stared at the latter’s blue dress.
“Who brought this dress for you?” She remembered Serena wore a red gown last night.
“Mr. Quade. He said he told Willow to get these for me.”
“Oh, wow, Wilson. Not only was he the knight in shining armor, but he was also the humble tailor who brought you clothes.

Seriously, why don’t you two just date?”
“Hey, don’t be ridiculous. It’s purely professional between us.”
“Professionally romantic, you mean?” Lauren teased her.
After the conversation, Serena suddenly thought about calling Wilson. “I’m getting discharged today. I should inform him about
it.”
She fished out her phone and dialed his number. Soon, his lazy yet melodic voice sounded on the call “Hello, Ms. Judd.”
“Hey, Mr. Quade. Thank you so much for last night. I feel a lot better today and have just completed my discharge procedure. I’m
heading home now.”
“I know.”
“You do?”
His voice was gentle. “Look ahead.”
Serena lifted her eyes and looked outside the hospital. A long, black Lincoln limousine was parked there.
Wilson, dressed in a black suit, stood by the car. One hand held a cigarette, and the other held a phone to his ear.
Although he was leaning casually against the car, his distinguished temperament couldn’t be hidden, drawing the attention of
passersby who couldn’t help but glance at him..
