Chapter 68
Serena halted her footsteps. Meanwhile, Lauren inched closer to her ear, sounding excited. “Oh, my gosh. Your Prince Charming
is waiting for you right there!”
Serena was speechless, Wilson was neither her Princess Charming nor waiting for her. She strode toward him and asked, “Mr.
Quade, why are you here?”
“To see you” Wile
you.
“Wilson stood in place, his gaze falling onto her. “Not bad. You’ve recovered faster than I imagined.”
“I can resume work in two days—”
“Don’t worry about work. Sebastian has found your temporary replacement. Your recovery is the priority here.” He then hinted at her. “Do you want me to give you a ride?”
Being the perceptive assistant, Sebastian quickly pulled open the door to the Lincoln limousine.
Before Serena could say anything, Lauren, visibly amazed by the vehicle, quickly affirmed, “Of course! Thank you for the offer,
Mr. Quade!”
She slipped in like a loach, smooth and agile, her action baffling both Wilson and Serena.
“Well, that’s Laurie for you. Please don’t mind her, Mr. Quade,” Serena apologized, smiling awkwardly.
“Come on. I’m not that stingy. It’s not like the limo can’t fit another extra person. Hop on.
i
Serena entered the limousine while Wilson glanced sideways at the remaining man, Aaron. “Are you trying to get in, too?”
“No, no. I have my car.” Aaron quickly pointed at his Mercedez–Benz, which was parked nearby.
Wilson turned around and headed toward his Lincoln without sparing him another glance. Before he could get in, he heard a
shout from behind.
“Will!”
He cocked his head to the source of the voice, only to see Willow approaching him with a rolling luggage. “What a coincidence,
Will. Are you here to pick up Serena?”
Wilson narrowed his eyes. “I thought you were off today. What are you doing here?”
“Oh, it’s a long story. Anyway, I’m homeless now. Find me a place, alright?” While speaking, she left her luggage to Sebastian, disregarding Wilson’s permission, and hopped into the limousine.
Holding the luggage, Sebastian was somewhat dazed. “Mr. Quade…”
What was happening today? Wilson’s plan was to pick up Serena so they could spend some alone time. Now, it had turned into a
crowd.

Wilson’s countenance darkened. “What are you looking at me for? Get in your driver’s seat.”
With a stride, he entered the Lincoln.
The car slowly started and drove away from the hospital. Across the street, unnoticed by anyone, a black Maybach had been
parked for quite some time.
In the front passenger seat, Joseph stared with widened eyes. “Justin, we’re too late! Wilson has picked up Serena!”
a
Justin’s lips pursed into a thin line. “I didn’t come here to pick her up; I came here for Arthur.”
“I thought that was only incidental. You’re mainly here because of Serena! What do we do…”
Though Justin stayed silent, his expression became increasingly grim. He had spent a sleepless night worrying about Serena, yet
In the end, he realized she had others doing the same for her.
Frankly, he was annoyed.
“Go get Arthur. I’m not heading in anymore.”
Joseph had been sticking his face against the window for some time. After a while, he asked, “Justin, do you know who that man. who drove a Mercedez–Benz is to Serena’s best friend? I saw them together last night, and they’re picking up Serena together
again…”
Justin raised a brow. “You’re not into Lauren Steele, are you?”
“Lauren Steele?” Joseph tried to recall her name but quickly denied it. “Of course not! The last time I saw her at the club, she kept
calling me your lackey. I remember that!”
“That better be the case. If you’ve actually fallen for that crazy woman, I don’t want to see you at the Farrow residence ever
again.”
Joseph was at a loss for words. Was Lauren really that awful?
In the Lincoln limousine, Lauren and Willow surrounded Serena, their eyes gleaming with curiosity.
Considering that Wilson was present, Willow refrained from being too forward. She only whispered, trying to gauge Serena’s
impression of him.
In stark contrast, Lauren chattered loudly, “Rina, 1 heard Justin was there last night. You didn’t give him a chance, did you? Oh,
it’s great that you didn’t. I bet that Scumstin was infuriated watching you leave with Mr. Quade.”
She guffawed, adding, “He totally deserved that! Anyway, the best way to move on from a breakup is to start a new relationship. I
think Mr. Quade is a great catch, Rina.
“Besides, you’re his personal assistant. You guys are already spending time together anyway! What are you waiting for?”
At t
At that point, Serena wanted nothing more than to seal Lauren’s lips shut.

Wilson leaned against the innermost seat, propping his head up with one hand. His beautiful eyes glimmered, casting a
mesmerizing curve. “Wait, what? I couldn’t hear your highly secretive, intricate scheme.”
Serena was embarrassed. “Please don’t mind her, Mr. Quade. She doesn’t have a filter.”
Willow advised Lauren, “Watch out, Lauren. Will is known for his unpredictable mood.”
“You guys are overreacting! From what I can tell, Mr. Quade is friendly, handsome, gentle, and thoughtful; he’s a perfect man! He can easily defeat ten Scumstins! I’m sure the tabloids were writing nonsense.”
Lauren raised her chin at Wilson, stating, “I have faith in you, Mr. Quade!”
He raised his brows, glancing at Serena. “Ms. Judd? I think your best friend is wiser than you.”
She was rendered speechless. Nothing worked like a flattery, but she was surprised Wilson enjoyed it.
“Lauren, is it? Considering my fondness for you, I’ll let you take whatever you like in this limo.”
“For real?” Lauren was momentarily stunned by the sudden opportunity. Her eyes darted around the car, scanning for anything
valuable.
There were bottles of liquor scattered across the table, but nothing of real worth. Her gaze shifted toward the boxes behind
Wilson.
“What’s in there, Mr. Quade?”
“Watches.”
At times, different watches were needed to complement different outfits, so he kept a few in the car.
The giggling Lauren said, “I won’t be greedy. I’ll only take one.”
Wilson casually grabbed one of the boxes and tossed it to her. She eagerly opened it, with Willow and Serena also leaning in to get a better look
The watch was studded with diamonds, its brilliance blinding everyone’s eyes.
Immediately, she closed the box with a loud snap and fell to her knees. “From now on, you’re my faith and religion, Mr. Quade. I worship
you!”
