Chapter 278
Anya was not holding back at all. At first, she didn’t want to kick Roseanne out because she had traveled all the way to see Julian. But that didn’t mean she’d allow her to make a scene in front of Julian.
Roseanne stiffened when Anya snapped at her, then defended herself pitifully, “Anya, I didn’t mean it like that. I just… I was worried about Julian. What if we didn’t get here in time, and Ms. Talley left? What if something happened to Julian?”
“What could happen? Do you think the doctors and nurses here are just sitting around doing nothing?” Anya sneered, directly exposing her, and said, “I think you’re just hoping for trouble.”
Roseanne’s eyes went red from Anya’s harsh words. “Anya, I haven’t offended you, right? Why do you think so badly of me?”
She said this with a pitiful look at Julian, hoping he’d say something in her defense, but he seemed lost in his own world, savoring the oatmeal as if it were some exquisite delicacy.
“I don’t believe you’re that terrible. Moreover, how awful you really are is something an outsider like me couldn’t possibly know.” Anya rolled her eyes elegantly, showing no mercy to Roseanne, and continued, “I just don’t want to hear you badmouth my Rosalie in front of me.”
Roseanne was furious, thinking, ‘Is Anya out of her mind? Kaleb has spoiled her, making her reckless and devoid of any social tact. How could she speak so rudely and not care about offending me?‘
“Anya, I didn’t say anything bad about Ms. Talley. And even if I did, she’s not your sister–in–law anymore. Why are you defending her so much?”
“Tch!” Anya rolled her eyes again, clearly irritated. “What does protecting Rosalie have to do with whether or not she’s my sister–in–law? I consider her my sister, and I want to protect her. It has nothing to do with that stupid Julian. Don’t you get it?”
Roseanne went speechless, thinking, ‘She has even insulted her own brother.
Roseanne gritted her teeth and looked at Julian again, but he remained lost in his own world, savoring his oatmeal as if it were the best thing ever, completely unresponsive even when Anya called him stupid.

Julian!” Roseanne shouted in frustration, sapping him back to reality. She noticed his brows furrow, and the gentleness he had once shown seemed to disappear completely. When he looked at her, his eyes were filled with only coldness.
“What is it?” His completely different attitude pierced Roseanne’s heart like a sharp pain.
She just couldn’t understand how Julian could switch from treating her one way to treating Rosalie in a completely different way in the blink of an eye.
The gentleness he gave Rosalie, he wouldn’t even spare a shred of it for her.
“Are you really so heartless to me? Don’t you care at all about what we had? You really don’t feel anything about our past?”
Julian looked up at her, as if confused by her words. “If you’re asking me to help your dad take back the Palmer Group, then yes, that would be showing we have some kind of bond. But sorry, my bond with your cousin is stronger. Why would I help you because of some bond?”
Roseanne’s eyes widened in disbelief. She couldn’t understand why, out of nowhere, Julian was bringing this up.
