Chapter 281
The only exception was Rosalie, but now, even Rosalie had left him.
Regarding Julian’s mindset, Anya couldn’t say he was right, but she couldn’t say he was wrong either. While he treated marriage like a task to be handled, at least he was responsible.
But from Roseanne’s perspective, as a boyfriend, he clearly hadn’t done enough. Everyone wants their boyfriend to prioritize them above everything else.
It could only be said that Roseanne wasn’t the person Julian would bother with.
When someone he cared about appeared, he was completely a different person.
Roseanne left the hospital with regret and resentment.
Roseanne thought. If I hadn’t acted on impulse back then and had simply stayed with Julian, I would be Julian’s now, standing high above–what place would Rosalie have in all of this?‘
It was because of these thoughts that she always felt Rosalie had stolen Julian from her, taken her place as Mrs. Galloway, and her hatred for Rosalie grew stronger.
After leaving the hospital, Rosalie went straight to Hawthorne University.
As soon as she entered the classroom, she spotted Helena, looking pale and exhausted.
It wasn’t because Helena was particularly attractive, but because she had been isolated by the entire class. No one wanted to sit with her, and a large space around her was empty. It was hard not to notice her.
Rosalie raised an eyebrow, somewhat impressed by Helena’s shamelessness.
She had thought that after such big gossip broke out yesterday, Helena would probably pretend to be sick and stay home, at least wait for the heat of the issue to die down. But she had unde.stimated Helena’s audacity.
Helena saw Rosalie too, and naturally, she noticed the mockery in Rosalie’s eyes.
She clenched her fists tightly, using the pain in her palms to suppress her frustration and resentment, then faced Rosalie with a calm posture.
It was as if this would make the whole class forget what she, the ultimate ungrateful stepdaughter, had done to Rosalie,
Now, everybody knew that Helena was a shameless, malicious gold digger. Everyone was too ashamed to be associated with her. Even those who had once flattered her kept their distance.
In the blink of an eye, Helena went from being the class goddess to a despised, heartless person.
Rosalie didn’t bother with elena, nor did she deliberately mock her. After glancing away, she just continued with the lesson.
To Helena, this was interpreted as Rosalie not caring to fight with her, or that even mocking her secined beneath Rosalie.
This perception made Helena’s face darken even more.
She barely made it through the class. As soon as Rosalie left the classroom, Helena followed her out and called her, “Roselia
Rosalie looked at her with a cold gaze, as if she were looking at a stranger.
Helena apologized softly, “I’m sorry, dear sister, what happened yesterday was my fault. I’m really sorry, but… I truly didn’t mean it…”
As she spoke, tears welled up in her eyes, making her apology and guilt seem utterly sincere,
If Rosalie didn’t know what kind of person Helena was, she might have been tricked by her pitiful appearance.
Rosalie raised an eyebrow and observed Helena without responding
