Chapter 282
Then Helena continued, “The video of your class was indeed recorded by me. I recorded it to show Dad, so he could see you were teaching at Hawthorne University. But I didn’t know it would cause you trouble. I’m truly sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. Please forgive me.”
The way Helena spoke made it sound like she was completely innocent, as if the whole situation had nothing to do with her, pushing all the blame onto Edward.
To maintain her pure image, she had no qualms about selling out her father.
Rosalie looked at her reddened eyes and smiled, asking in front of the entire class, “You just sold out your dad like that? Aren’t you afraid he’ll disown you when he finds out?”
Rosalie’s gaze carried a hint of mystery, and her words made Helena’s brow twitch. She emphasized the phrase “your dad,” sending a flutter of unease through Helena’s heart.
She didn’t know if Rosalie knew she was an illegitimate child or if Rosalie was simply referring to her stepfather.”
Trying to keep her cool, she glanced at Rosalie’s smile and said softly, “I didn’t expect it to blow up like this. None of us knew you were a top grad from Holloway Academy.
You never mentioned it to us. I was so surprised when I saw you teaching at Hawthorne University, so I recorded the video to show Dad. I was happy for you.”
Helena continued, starting to believe her own words and even thinking that Rosalie was being petty.
She needed something from Rosalie, and that was why she was lowering herself and begging Rosalie like this.
Rosalie glanced at Helena’s fake attitude and rolled her eyes before turning around to leave without saying a word.
Helena couldn’t believe Rosalie was actually leaving like that. She wasn’t about to give up; her goal hadn’t been achieved yet.
Helena clenched her teeth, suppressed the anger rising in her chest, and hurried after her. “Rosalie, can you forgive me? I’ll do anything you want if you just forgive me.”
She thought she had humbled herself enough, so Rosalie should forgive her.
Besides, she thought Rosalie had kept her high academic credentials hidden from her family just to show off and make her family regret. Now that she’d succeeded, she should let it go now.
Rosalie stopped in her tracks and looked at Helena standing before her. ‘She’s clearly seething with hatred on the inside, yet she still has to put on that pitiful, wronged expression?‘ Rosalie thought, as she couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
“Helena, I know exactly what kind of person you are. Stop pretending in front of me. If you don’t want me to dunk your head in the sink and wash your brain, then get the hell away from me and stop disgusting me.”
Helena’s face turned pale when she heard Rosalie mention the sink, remembering how Rosalie had shoved her into the fountain in front of so many people yesterday. She looked at Rosalie with a mixture of fear and hatred.
She blinked back tears. “Rosalic, can you really not forgive me?”
“I could forgive you,” Rosalie suddenly smiled.
Helena’s eyes lit up. “Really?”
Rosalie pointed toward the playground and said to Helena, “If you go in front of everyone right now and shout that you’re a big idiot, I’ll consider forgiving you.”
Helena’s eyes widened in disbelief, her anger surging up. “You… are you deliberately trying to humiliate me?”
