However, John still ended up dying in that accident…
Tugging on his hand, I said, “Darling, I had a nightmare… You were in an accident because the brakes malfunctioned…”
John couldn’t help but chuckle. “Oh, silly–you must be getting paranoid from the hormones.” –
However, I kept going on stubbornly, “My foresight has always been accurate. You have to check the car every time you leave the
house–especially the brakes.”
Smiling tenderly, he tapped me on the nose. “Alright. I don’t believe in superstition, but I will do what you say.”
Meanwhile, Dylan and Lily were sent abroad to train in one of John’s company’s subsidiaries, and life hadn’t been kind to them.
John wanted to make sure Dylan couldn’t hurt my children, and before they left, I ‘kindly‘ reminded John that Dylan and Lily
should register their marriage before they went abroad.
John was all too happy to enforce the idea.
And once abroad, Dylan suffered setbacks at every turn, and his career stalled.
Eventually, he started to vent all his frustrations on Lily, abusing her physically or verbally.
At first, Lily quietly suffered the abuse. But as the beatings increased, she began to fight back, and they often left each other
bruised and battered.
Then, in one particularly heated fight, Lily inadvertently revealed that she was the one who had drugged Dylan that day!
Even as the kind, innocent image of Lily in Dylan’s mind fell apart, he was pointing at her and bellowing, “So it was you! You did
it!”
“So what if I did?!” Lily retorted just as loudly. “You were enjoying it plenty!”
Dylan froze, as he was always believed that I was the one who drugged him, but it was Lily all along.
“Why did you do it?” He asked in disbelief.
“Because I love you! And I wanted to be your wife!” Lily shrieked hysterically. “Is that so wrong?!”
