Chapter 2
I slowly lowered my hands from my head and fell silent, staring at him in a daze.
Lucian buckled my seatbelt with a frown. “If you keep pretending, I’ll throw you out.”
“Would he truly not hurt me?” I wondered.
My mind drifted back to the day I arrived at the special training school. A bruised girl came up to me, her hands shaking as she held a razor to shave my head.
I fought back, but they beat me until I was choking on blood.

During the chaos, my hair was shaved unevenly, and my scalp bled from the cuts.
The girl cried, begging me to stop resisting.
After shaving my head, they dragged me into a corner and beat me again.

I lay there, barely breathing.
The instructors unzipped their pants and urinated on me. “Do what we say, and you’ll suffer less. Hahaha…”
Through my angry and terrified eyes, I watched as that girl named Kate was numbly dragged away into another room.

“We’re here.”
The car had stopped outside the Simpson’s residence.
Lucian stepped out and opened the door for me. Seeing that I didn’t budge, he reached for my wrist.
As soon as he touched me, I reflexively pulled away. Tears started falling right away.
“Don’t touch me! Please, just don’t.”
All those terrible memories came crashing back like a wave.
The drunken instructor busted into the dorm, rushed over to my bed, yanked my hair, and dragged me off the bed.
I cried as he pulled me

He tossed me onto the bed like I was nothing. My eyes stared blankly, drained of feeling.
I covered my face with one hand, trying to shrink back into the seat. “Please don’t touch me. I’m getting married when I get out.
“My fiancé is Lucian. I’ll ask him to pay you. Whatever you want…
Lucian had lost all patience. He gripped my wrist and pulled me out of the car.
“Raina, can you drop the act? I’m tired of it,” he snapped.
“If you’re so into performing, I’ll get you into showbiz. Just don’t drag me into your drama.”

Lost in my memories, I trembled and didn’t catch a word he said.
When he noticed I was still crying, he sighed and pulled me into his
arms
“You’ve really got me wrapped around your finger.”
He gently patted my back. “Come on. Don’t cry anymore. I’ll take you shopping later. Use any card you want.”
