Chapter 20
Alpha Kodak’s POV
use the bathroom. Luna Lovette looked stunning in the silky pajama
It was strange how peacefully I slept on the couch last night. I only woke up to use pants I got for her, but I couldn’t bring myself to tell her.
When she emerged from the shower. I pretended to be asleep so she could feel at ease. Once I was sure she was asleep, I went to Raul’s room to get updates on Zeeva.
“Alpha, it’s taken care of.
- f. 1 didn’t want to disturb you with a mindlink since I thought you were sleeping,” Raul informed me.
1 sat on his couch and asked for details about Zeeva’s behavior. Did she throw a tantrum”
“Yes, she did. I had two warriors escort her back to her pack. They left her at the gate without entering,” Raul explained.
The relief in his eyes at finally getting rid of Zeeva was no longer surprising, as I knew he still harbored a grudge against her for what her father did

If I were to declare war now, Raul would be very excited, but for the sake of my pup, I didn’t want any of that. “Good one. I will go to bed now.”
Returning to my room. I was relieved to see Luna Loveite peacefully asleep. She looked so innocent and fragile in her sleep, making me wish she wasn’t so tough
Luna Lovette was the first she wolf to challenge me the way she did, which I understood was due to her position.
Surprisingly, I fell asleep as soon as my body touched the sofa.

Normally, I would sleep for three to four hours, but it was six hours later before I woke up to the sound of a mindlink
“Alpha. I have informed the pack members to report at the front of the packhouse in an hour, Raul’s voice echoed in my
Forced out of my sleep by Raul’s message, I couldn’t believe I had slept so peacefully because of my pup. Thad to hurry to meet my pack members. especially since I had to meet Luna Lovene’s elders as well.
I was finished and ready, but I found it difficult to wake Luna Lovette from her peaceful sleep.
When I finally did, I instructed the chef to avoid including sausages in Luna Lovette’s meals in the future, as I didn’t want her to experience episode of vomiting.

“Sorry, Alpha, but is she pregnant?” the chef asked, catching me off guard and making me wonder if it was that obvious. If it was, would everyone

“How can you tell? I inquired.
The chef hesitated before explaining, “Well, that was a chicken sausage I made, a bit spicy like what I prepared for you.”
1 understood her implication that for someone to enjoy it and get sick, there might be a suspicion of pregnancy. Just be careful not to mention that
again
After ensuring she understood my request, I glanced at the glass door where Luna Lovette was showering and decided to leave the room to have breakfast downstairs with Kul
Upon returning, I hoped–Luna Lovette had finished showering, but what I same surprised me.
Her back was turned to the door, revealing her flawless bare back as she struggled with the zipper. I made a mental note to choose something easier
for her to wear next tune.
Our wine together was solely to protect the pup, so there was never any intention of developing intimacy between us.
Without hesitation–f reached out to close the zipper, inadvertently brushing her bare back. I felt her shiver, and a strange sensation coursed through me as well
“Did she stay the night? Jaguar’s return filled me with excitement.

Your wound has healed, so I’m back. But I can’t erase the scars, not even your pup can do that?
It was disheartening to bear that mark, but the consolation was that I did it for my pup. I needed to find a way to conceal it to avoid drawing

Having Jaguar back boosted my confidence, and I couldn’t complain about his inability to remove my
“I understand,” I said with a forced smile as Luna Lovette turned around.
“Thank you,” she said. I never realized how good I was at selecting women’s clothing until she tried on the dress I chose for her.
I was
s my first time doing something like this, and I was worried it wouldn’t fit, but it looked perfect on her
“You look stunning.” I said sincerely, not concerned if she believed me, but she smiled.
“Thank you. You look good too,”
,” she said. Was she complimenting me? Maybe things weren’t as bad as I thought. Perhaps the shock of the situation was just too intense for both of us to handle.
1 raised my arm slightly in a bow, and she linked her arm with mine. It felt strange but also oddly fitting, and I felt the need to address something important
“Until this contract is over, let’s go by first names,” I suggested. It felt odd to use titles when we were pretending to be in love.
Her response was delayed, indicating that she was contemplating my words. Eventually, she replied, “I agree.”
Taking the initiative, I proceeded to the next step, which elicited an eye roll from her.
Then moving forward, let’s set aside any animosity towards me and focus on what’s best for our pup,” I suggested, recalling the hurtful words she had hurled at me the previous night.
This time, I averted my gaze as she rolled her eyes. “Agreed
Raul greeted us at the bottom of the stairs with a smile on his face and his phone in hand. Did he just snap a picture of us!
it is he doing?” Luna Lovene asked, visibly displeased by the intrusion, and Raul was overcome with embarrassment,
What is he
He must have misunderstood our pretense of getting along based on his response,
“I’m sorry,
around.
Luna, but pictures of the two of you need to circulate. I know you’re shy,” Raul stammered Luna Lovette seemed to catch on, glancing
Observing the maids‘ shocked expressions, she leaned over with a shy smile, and Taul’s sigh of relief mirrored my own.
I was aware that the maids were gossiping, but I couldn’t bring myself to care.
Everyone gossiped at some point in their lives, but in this case, I knew it was more abour Zeeva,
“Ready?” I asked her, and she nodded. “Ready”
I forced a smile and composed myself before opening the front door. The pack members were gathered in numbers, the warriors still in their training outfits.
I missed training a lot, and for the past few days, I had to excuse myself.
Seeing their longing faces, I was already thinking of ways to make it up to them.
“Silent Claw pack” 1 announced, and they responded with our customary war salute
“Silent but deadly.”
Luna Lovette’s faint smile was captivating, even if it was forced,
Not many packs had this tradition, but it was my way of boosting their morale during wars or similar times.
“I’m glad to see all of you this morning and apologize for not being able to join you in training for almost a week. Things have been complicated,” I explained, my arm still linked with Luna Lovette’s
Some pack members were excited, some curious, and others upset. One of them spoke up, asking
Alpha, did you really break up with Zeevat Won’t this lead to a conflict?” I could tell from his intense gaze at Luna Lovette that he didn’t like her, Tsar it was all just a facade,
Soon, we would part ways again, but this time I would have a fierce pup by my side. I expected nothing less given the fierceness of both Luna Lovette and myself
“Please be patient, everyone. 1 am here for a reason. As your Alpha, I have always had the best interests of the pack and each of you at heart, even if
goes against my own beliefs”

I noticed Luna Lovette giving me a look when I spoke those words, but I continued on, knowing that the pack members understood the truth behind my intentions.
“I have never disrespected she–wolves, and never did that to Zeeva, I emphasized, causing a cloud of confusion to settle over their faces as some began to murmur.
Unlike other leaders, I detested listening to rumors unless they were of utmost importance, so I decided to proceed with what I had to say. “Regarding my meeting with Luna Lovette…”
Their voices drowned out mine. “Luna Lovette?” The murmurs grew louder, and I could see the excitement in their eyes, which caught me off guard.
It was evident that Luna Lovette had kept herself hidden so well that most of them had only heard of her name but never seen her in person. I Inquired.
“What do you know about her?”
Their responses were unexpected, and I could see the astonishment in their eyes with each answer.
