The two of them remained like that, leaning against each other, until the plane landed in Millford a few hours later.
When the plane finally came to a stop, Megan stirred, still half–asleep.
And the moment she realized they had fallen asleep with their heads resting together, her face turned bright red.
Startled, she quickly pulled away, widening the space between them.
What had just happened? How could she have ended up sleeping against Leonard like that?
If anyone saw them, wouldn’t it be a complete misunderstanding?
Before she could say anything, Leonard spoke first.
“Don’t worry. You looked really uncomfortable, so I just thought you’d sleep better this way. “We’re friends, right? No need to be so uptight.” Hearing that, Megan no longer felt so awkward about it.

Leonard was in the thick of it too, yet he didn’t seem the least bit concerned.
Thinking about that, Megan finally relaxed.
She even started to wonder if she’d been making a fuss over nothing.
It was just a bit of concern between friends–what was there to overthink?
With that thought, a smile returned to her face.
Seeing her let the matter go, Leonard quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
He really did admire Megan sometimes.
No matter what was bothering her, once she had thought it through, she wouldn’t dwell on it afterward.
Unlike others, who might stay stuck in the same loop for ages, Megan just wasn’t like that.
To her, once something passed, it was over.
There was no point getting hung up on it.
If she hadn’t lived through it, she wouldn’t have grown.
But once she had, she knew how to face it the next time–without wasting energy on questions like, “Why didn’t I do this?” or “Why did I do that?” With Megan’s kind of mindset, most problems could be worked through smoothly.
Leonard genuinely admired that about her.
Now, seeing her bounce back, her energy returning to normal, made him genuinely happy.
This was the Megan he knew—the one on the plane had been a heart–wrenching sight.
But now, she was clearly doing much better.
Leonard asked, “Where should we start looking for Aurora?”
Megan quickly pulled out her phone. “Oh right, let me check.”
Leonard watched her fumble through her apps and couldn’t help but think how adorable she looked.
She was a grown woman, yet everything she did still had that endearing clumsiness to it.
“Alright, alright, no rush. Let’s just take it slow,” he said gently, trying to reassure her.
They were already in Millford anyway. It was only a matter of time before they saw Aurora. There was really no need to stress.
Megan checked the address Grace had sent her. It was a hospital.
Without hesitating, she grabbed Leonard and headed straight there.
It had been days since she last saw Aurora, and truthfully, she missed her.
She didn’t even know how Aurora was doing.
Was she still unconscious?
Or had she already woken up and Lucas was just hiding it from them?
The thought made Megan a little angry.
Lucas was her only cousin, and yet he was playing games with her.
Did he really think she couldn’t be trusted?
And to make things worse, he didn’t even inform her about taking Aurora to a completely unfamiliar place.
While Megan was still lost in her thoughts, Leonard casually hailed a cab.
With money, even buying a car on the spot wasn’t off the table.
Megan was still fuming inside when a sleek, low–profile taxi pulled up in front of them.
She blinked in surprise and looked at Leonard. “You already got us a ride that fast?”
“Of course. The second you gave me the address, I started looking.”
Megan let out a small laugh. “Not bad. I gotta hand it to you.”
“Anyway, let’s stop talking and head to the hospital. We’ll definitely get to see Aurora before sunset.”
Just saying it out loud filled Megan’s voice with obvious excitement.
It had been almost a week since she last saw Aurora.
There hadn’t been a single word about Aurora.
How could she not be worried? How could she not be anxious?
