The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the cory atmosphere of the cafe as Lilian and Jenna sat across from each other, their drinks untouched as they leaned in closer.
“I still can’t believe it” Lilian said, shaking her head. “Skylar! A successful businesswoman? And in Australia! That’s impossible!”
Lilian still felt the shock that hit her so hard when Skylar revealed what she did and where she felt during the six years she disappeared.
Actually, it was not just Lilian. Everyone who was present at the meeting that day, four days ago, was shocked to hear Skylar’s story, which wa accompanied by photo and video evidence with Skylar’s company in Australia and a new branch that was still in the process of finishing the construction of its building in Hong Kong

Jenna snapped her fingers. “Ah! Yes, I’ve heard about that. But if you think he paid Skylar to carry his children, I don’t think that’s possible.”

David sighed. “Could it be that those kids are my sons? How old are they! If their ages and the time Skylar left match up, maybe they–”

David quickly reached for her hand, squeezing it. “Baby, you know I love you. You’re the only one I want. I couldn’t possibly think of getting back together with Skylar and hurting you”
Lilian smirked, glancing at them both. Then hurry up and plan your wedding already. You’ve been engaged for way too long.
Jenna let out an annoyed sigh jerking her hand away from Dave’s grasp. “I need a break,” she muttered, grabbing her bag and standing up. I’m going shopping”
Lilian stood up too. She glared at David. “Don’t upset my daughter, David 1 cut your throat with my own hands if you hurt her”
David gulped and grabbed Jenna’s hand. “Baby, I’ll accompany you shopping. 11 buy you anything you want.”
Jenna pushed David’s hand away. “No. I want to be alone. You’re upsetting me. Mom, can you go home by yourself! I’ll come back after my upset feeling is gone.
Lilim smiled softly. Take your time. Jenna. I’ll go see your father now too.
Without another word, Jenna stormed out. David intended to chase after her, but Lilian held him back. “Leave her alone, David. You’re upsetting ber and you know Jenna will be even more upset if you follow her

Lilian clicked her tongue impatiently. “Next time think more carefully when you speak, especially when it’s about Skylar. You know how Jenna feels about her!
David lowered his head dejectedly.
Jenna went into various stores in the mall and looked around without really having any interest in buying
She then went into a famous boutique and wandered throughs the aisles, her fingers grazing luxurious fabrics, when a familiar figure caught her eye.
It’s Skylar. The person she least wanted to see right now.
Dressed elegantly and exuding confidence, Skylar was surrounded by a mountain of expensive purchases. Jenna felt a surge of irritation at the sight.
Feigning concern, Jenna approached with a smirk. “Looks like after you come back, I be seeing you often disturbing my eyesight, huh?”
Skylar was surprised to see Jenna suddenly standing next to her “Oh, you’re here?”
Jenro snorted sarcastically, She glanced at the shopping bags in Skylar’s hands. All of them were from boutiques and luxury stores. “Are you sure you can afford all of this, Skylar? You wouldn’t want to embarrass yourself when your card declines”
Skylar followed Jenna’s gaze and chuckled, unbothered, and reached into her designer bag, pulling out a sleek, unlimited credit card.
She held it up for Jina to see, her smile unwavering: “I think I’ll be just fine. But thanks for your concern, Jenna.”
Jina’s expression darkened, her attempt to humiliate Seli crumbling before her eyes
“One more thing, I think you need to buy a pair of glasses, if you think I’m an eyesore, because from now on, I’m going to be bothering your eyes a lot. Don’t let yourself go blind from looking at me too much, Skylar said with a chuckle. She then turned around, and walked towards the cashier.
As Skylar turned to leave, she paused, glancing back at Jenna with a cool gaze. “Oh, by the way, make sure you prepare a special meeting for all the hotel staff tomorrow. I be attending. I’ve checked the hotel’s management and there are many things that need to be fixed there.”
“What?” Jenna uid annoyed. “For what? There’s nothing to discuss and I already have my own agenda to–”
Skylar clicked her tongue. “I’m your boss now, after my grandfather’s power was transferred to me, Jenna. Even though the hotel has been given to you, but as long as it is still under the management of The Carter Mainland, then you must still submit to the main management. Or, you can take chre of separating the hotel from The Carter Mainland and I will not interfere in anything anymore.”
With that, she walked away, leaving Jenna seething in the middle of the boutique, her fists clenched in frustration.
