Chapter 6
I had no idea how I’d managed to survive so long in the radiation zone. But one thing was certain–anyone who got too close to me wouldn’t walk away unscathed.
Within days, they’d all started showing the same symptoms. They lost their appetite and began to vomit.
Colette thought I was afraid. So, she told me something I had never known with a cold smile.

“Can you believe it? Those two idiots actually did it. And they chose the tracks, of all things. The incident made quite the headline, didn’t it? thought they had died out of guilt.”

The moment I got off the plane, I received a call from the funeral home. I remembered how my hands trembled as I accepted their urns.
Meanwhile, Colette was in the passenger seat of Frederick’s car, gleefully snapping photos of me. Then, she sold them to the press.
That same day, the news that the CEO of Sherman Group and his wife had jumped in front of a train was all over the Internet. Some people even applauded it.
