Seeing her daughter’s twisted expression, Olivia slapped her hard across the cheek. “Get out! Leave this house! I disown you. She was your own sister! How could you do this to her?”
Henry wrapped his arm around his wife’s shoulders, his eyes filled with resentment and disappointment, prompting Kellie to drop all pretenses. “Yes, I did it! So what? Are you two completely innocent? If you couldn’t- take care of us, you shouldn’t have had so many kids!
“Now you regret it and act like saints? It’s too late! Guess who Sophia despised more. Mé, or you two biased parents?”
Olivia clutched her chest, struggling to breathe. Before she could recover, the police arrived at the door. “Hello, Kellie is under suspicion of tax evasion, malicious bidding, and other illegal activities. Please cooperate with our investigation.”
As troubles never come alone, news of Kellie’s actions spread, causing Kimbere Group’s stock price to plummet. Despite Henry’s frantic attempts, the company’s shares ultimately crashed.
On the day the company went bankrupt, Olivia knelt outside Adam’s villa, tears streaming down her face. “Adam, please have mercy on us! Sophia is already gone. Let her rest in peace! She was my daughter, the one I carried for nine months!”
Inside, the red threads had multiplied. Adam, looking gaunt and frail, held the urn and gazed coldly at the door. “Go away. She definitely wouldn’t want me to retaliate against you. You never loved her when she was alive. What right do you have to claim love now? Isn’t that ironic?”
Henry wept bitterly. With the situation beyond repair, he could only assist his wife as they stumbled away.
Adam would never hurt them physically, but they would spend the rest of their lives in unending anguish and remorse, devoid of any happiness.
