Skylar’s eyebrows raised, her face remained flat, showing no emotion whatsoever.
Jenna on the other hand. Her face was bright red from the anger that almost made her short of breath, also because of the shock that had not yet finished being felt.
“What are you doing, Skylar?” Jenna growled emotionally. Why did you just announce the closing of my hotel!”

“What do you mean?” Jenna snapped, getting more annoyed.
“You’re by his side, is it sincere because you love him or because you expect something from him?” Skylar replied calmly. “Grandpa is a very sensitive person and his instincts are sharp. Maybe, he prefers you away from him, but every time you meet or talk to him, he can feel your sincere affection. Rather than you sticking to him because you want something from him.”
Jenna’s fingers clenched at her sides, so tightly that they looked white.
“Don’t give me any lectures,” Jenna snapped. “Why did you close my hotel? What right do you have to do that?”
“First,” Skylar said, still maintaining his calm and cold demeanor. “The hotel is not yours yet. If you read the contents of the additional documents in Grandpa’s will, you will know the situation. Currently, the hotel is still under The Carter Mainland Enterprise completely. You only have full management rights, not ownership rights”
Jenna was stunned. She had no idea what Skylar was talking about: Why did she only hear this now! Wan Skylar tricking her?
“When you were managing the hotel, you were under my supervision as the person appointed to replace Grandpa, Skylar continued. “You have several conditions that you must fulfill in managing the hotel, and if you cannot fulfill them, then you will be fired and you will have no rights whatsoever to the hotel. The shares you own in the hotel will be returned in full by the company?”
Jenna opened her mouth to refute, but Skylar raised her hand and stared at her with a cold gate, as if to say that she was not finished speaking, so Jenna should not interrupt
“TF, you want to become the hotel’s full OWNER, meaning that the central management of The Carter Mainland no longer has any rights to Tharage the hotel internally or externally, you can just buy all the shares or you fulfill all the conditions that Grandpa has written in the additional documents included in his will.
“You’re making it up, right?” Jenna asked with narrowed eyes. “What additional documents? Why did he have to make all those rules more complicated? The old man must have been insane when he made his will. He left everything to you, that’s already crazy!”
“That’s why Grandpa didn’t choose you as the main heir, Jenna,” Skylar mocked in a scorful tone. “You’re lazy, picky, and careless. Do you think a company as big as The Carter Mainland was built overnight by someone who just sat around and fantasized about becoming the ruler of the world?”
Anger made Jenna go crazy. She screamed and threw her hands.
SLAP
Skylar’s checks felt numb from the spiciness that made her originally white checks turn as red as ripe tomatoes, because of Jenna’s slap. Even the image of Jenna’s palm was clearly printed on her cheek.
Skylar looked at Jenna, who was in a daze while ring at her hand that was used to slap Jenna. She herself was surprised by her actions.
Calmly, Skylar took the phone and took a selfie, showing her cheek that had Jenna’s handprint
“H–bey, what are y–you doing? Jenna asked in panic,
“Just taking evidence of violence committed by a staff against her boss,” Skylar replied. “Actually I don’t need to do this, but the CCTV camera definitely can’t record your handprint on my check in detail like my camera.”

Not now,” Skylar replied lightly, as if they were just talking about a new nail salon that had opened in the mall. “But, I can’t happen in the future, especially if you still maintain your arrogant and annoying attitude like this”

Jenna stared at Skylar blankly. She wasn’t sure what to do, because the Skylar in front of her now was very different from the Skylar she used to know.
The Skylar who was introduced to her as her sister by her father and mother was a quiet, awkward, and easily bullied teenage girl.
She was so shy that teasing her was a pleasure for Jenna.
At first, Jenna didn’t hate her, she just didn’t like Skylar’s presence near her. Everyone always admired Skylar’s beauty and gentle attitude, and that annoyed Jenna
However, when she saw Skylar’s closeness to a guy she liked when she was in high school, hatred began to grow in Jenna’s heart and what started out as just a little silly teasing of Skylar, began to become an annoyance based on hatred.
Even the last moment when she witnessed David divorcing Skylar, the image of the woman as someone who was easily bullied and pushed aside, still stuck in Jenna’s mind.
But, the Skylar in front of her was someone else. She was very different from the Skylar she knew.
“What do you want, Skylar Jenna hissed with a choked voice in her throat. “Are you really going to close the hotel?”
“What do you think?” Skylar thed her head. “Previously you closed the hotel for two days without any clear reason, other than because you didn’t like my action of checking the hotel and getting to know all the staff, right That was a ridiculous and childish reason, even though what you are managing is a big five–star hotel built by your grandfather from just a small inn with three rooms!
Jenna bit the inside of her cheek.
“What you did just made me even more excited to check the hotel more carefully. Why don’t you let me check? Are you hiding something that you don’t want the central management to know? And then, I found out that for almost two years, the hotel has not made much prof. Staff come and go without any clear reason. Many guests have complained because the quality of service is considered poor. What cke? Skylar’s words flowed like rivers of lava that burned Jenna’s skin.
“I can explain all that,” Jenna said, her voice rising. “You can’t judge me based on a written summary”
“I thought I gave you time for that, but you’ve been avoiding me and making the hotel Jose more money. Let me see what happened while the hotel was closed for the past two days”

Skylar shook her head mockingly “Did you even know that our company has internal and external websites, and that every branch of the company. including The Carter Summer hotel that you are responsible for, also has a special page?”

“And why do you think I still want to look at him? He’s not even worth my half attention. Jenna, Skylar sorted. “Don’t be too big–headed and think that David is everything. I even refused his calls since he kept bothering me and asking me to meet in person because he said he still had unfinished business with me. Did you know that? Or… He didn’t tell you?“
Jenna’s face turned pale. Skylar’s words stabbed her heart. Why did David want to meet Skylar? What business did the man meant
“Listen, Jerina,” Skylar said coldly. This is your first warning. I won’t close the hotel, but I will monitor its progress under your leadership. You’ve made a big mistake once and I won’t be as generous to you as Grandpa has been. I won’t give you many chances and if you continue to be

“Are you threatening me!” Jenna hissed fiercely
Skylar lifted her chin. “Yes! Im giving you a chance, so use it well. Read the additional documents that contain information about the hotel and do your part well. Grandpa wrote such a thick document for your benefit, because even though you’re not his favorite, you’re still his flesh and blood.”
Skylar walked to the door and opened it wide.
“Now go. I’m busy. My fiancé will be on a video call in a moment and I don’t want you see how handsome he is and think about stealing him from me again, like you usually do!”
Jenna felt the blood in her body boil, building in anger at the feeling of defeat and humiliation. Never in her life had Jenna been treated like this. She wanted to cry.
