The sky looked gray since moming, as if adjusting to Jenna’s gloomy mood
David had not given her any news for four days. Not
to reply to the messages sent, in return calls, not even an online sign appeared.
In fact, she really needed to talk to her fiance. Not only because of longing, which honestly had begun to be eroded by feelings of suspicion, but because of a more pressing problem, namely the hotel’s financial report.
She had discussed it with David twice and the man had always only promised to discuss it with the company’s finance department, but again the hotel’s france department asked because there had been no follow–up to David’s statement.
“I heard gossip, there is a hotel branch in Alabama that is threatened with closure because the person who manages it cannot explain why there are so many empty transactions,” said the head of the finance division.
“If the audit team comes before I manage to balance this balance sheet” Jenna muttered angrily, closing her laptop roughly.
She tried to contact David again, but again her call was diverted to voice mail.
What is this David Jenna growled. This is very unusual. Even since David was still married to Skylar, he never missed calling and sending affectionate messages to her, every day. Something he never even did to his own wife at that time.
Who knows what the man was doing, even David’s secretary, when Jenna called her to ask, said that he had not been in the office for almost a week.

The light banging sound made Litian, her mother, who was passing in front of Jenna’s room on her way to her own room, startled.
“What’s wrong with you, Jenna! Why are you angry?” asked L Lilian, standing on the threshold of Jenna’s room which was not completely closed.
Jenna turned and saw her mother, she took a deep breath, then moved to sit on the side of the bed.
Lilian came in and sat next to Jenna She brushed Jenna’s messy hair lovingly.
“What’s wrong” Lilian asked softly. “Something happened?
“Ir’s David, mom… He haven’t contacted me for four days. I need him for the payment all of the transaction he made at the hotel. This could be Skylar’s reason to kick me out of the hotel, if I haven’t been able to close it all. But, he just disappeared”
Lilian raised an eyebrow. “Where did he go
go? He’s never done something like that before, right?”
I don’t know. He said he was out of town, but usually he still has time to contact me. This, even the messages I sent weren’t read,” Skylar replied. sadly.
Lilian sighed. Her instincts as a mother really felt uncomfortable. “Could it be… he’s starting to try to approach Skylar again? He’s been like that since we talked about Skylar’s children, right?”
Jenna looked at her mother, her face suddenly hardening. Tm suspicious too. Ever since Skylar came back and then there were those naughty kids, David’s attitude started to change. Jenna lowered her head, gripping the edge of her shirt anxiously. “If he starts thinking about approaching Skylar again because of those kids. I don’t know what to do, mom,”
Lilian held her daughter’s hand. “Don’t let him out of your arms, Jenna. You’ve sacrificed too much for your relationship, ever since he and Skylar got married. If necessary, push him. Ask for clarity. Ask him to set a date for your wedding. Don’t keep hanging like this. You’ve been engaged for quite some time and that damn grandpa is dead, so there’s no more obstacle for you to get married soon.”
Jenna fell silent. She knew her mother was right, but part of her heart felt sick of having to keep chasing someone who was starting to move away
She sacrificed a lot of feelings when David was forced to marry Skylar because of his grandmother’s request. Seeing the man she loved with another womun, even though she knew that David loved her and would never leave her, still felt uncomfortable.
Standing up. Lilian took a deep breath. “But this is all.. also because of that one woman. Ever since Skylar came back, everything has been chaotic. Your father also doesn’t come home because he keeps being sent out of town by her. It’s like there are no other staff.”

That afternoon, the next day, the sky was already starting to get hot when Lilian stepped to the company’s head office.
Skylar’s secretary tried to stop Lalian, but with a sharp gaze and an irresistible voice, she managed to get in.

Skylar nodded and smiled at Wendy. “It’s okay. I understand. Some people sometimes don’t understand normal human language. You can go back to your place, Wendy”
Wendy’s face looked relieved and she went out and closed the door.
Skylar’s face was cold, calm, as usual, But those eyes, sharp and intimidating.
“Lilian?” he said without standing up. “What do you need!”
Lilian took a few steps forward. “I want to talk. Not as your subordinate, but as a mother.
Skylar raised her eyebrows and laughed sarcastically. “As a mother? It sounds funny, but please
Lilian glared. “I want to know, why are you making my daughter and my husband’s life so stressfult Is this… some kind of revenge for the past?” Lilian’s voice began to tremble. “You’re looking for trouble to make them suffert”
Skylar chuckled, but it wasn’t a warm laugh. The laugh implied irony. “Revenge? Why are you thinking so much about something like that? Do you feel like there’s really a grudge that I need to take back from you guys?”
Lilian glared. “You’ve become good at twisting words, huh?”
“And
you think you’re the one who’s good at it all this time? Skylar mocked sarcastically. If you were really smart, then the chain of hotels that you and your husband manage would not have been in such a mess! Do you realize that all this time you are just incompetent people, who use the Caner name as a shelter from various problems that arise! In two years, The Carter Mainland will probably go bankrupt in your hands!”
Lilian choked. But Skylar wasn’t done yet.

Lilian’s face paled. Skybar’s words were like a hard slap that she didn’t expect. She opened her mouth, but no words came out.
Skylar pushed Lilian slowly with slow steps. “If you feel unable to work professionally, I suggest you resign. Rather than me deciding to fire y don’t need employees who only protest but are incompetent at work.“–

Skylar pointed at the blue bag in Lilian’s hand. “Your bag is fake. Virly Lane never issued bags with that monochrome series, besides gray, black, and white. Besides, Virly is not written with the letter 1, but with the letter Y. Tsk! If you like to show off, at least buy the real thing!”
Lilian’s face burned.
