“Who would read a document as thick as a Harry Potter novel?” Jenna snorted with disgust. “You know I don’t like to read, and that damn grandpa deliberately wrote down the details of his inheritance on pages and pages of paper?”
She pulled out the large brown envelope she had just received from Gino Vincent, a few hours after she returned from Skylar’s office.
It turns out that after the will reading, everyone named in the main will written by Aaron Carter, received additional documents to study related to the company
Jenna did not take her documents because she immediately left with David and she was too lazy to even ask about anything related to the will.
Skylar seemed to tell the legal team to give her part of the documents related to The Caner Summer hotel, until Gino Vincent gave them to her that afternoon.
Lilian grimaced. “Your father only got to page twenty and he’s already had two migraines.”
Jenna’s eyebrows rose. “Did he read it? Did he really read every word?”
“Yes,” Lilian nodded. Her face turned sour. “Your grandfather was really too much. He didn’t like his descendants receiving his wealth, while he died with nothing. So he made things difficult for us from the start”
“Did that bastard Skylar also receive a document like this?” Jenna asked curiously. “Why does she act like she knows everything!“
“According to Fredy Jenner, she finished reading her personal document, which was three times thicker than ours, in five days,” Lilian said with a sneer. “She must want the inheritance so badly that she’s trying so hard to figure out how to keep it”

Jenna looked at her mother with pity. She hated Skylar even more for the trouble she caused her family, even though Skylar hadn’t even been back for a month.

“And now, you think this is a good situation, because only Skylar is destroyed?” Grandpa snorted sarcastically.
“Skylar also didn’t refuse at all when David said he wanted a divorce. She just accepted it with a relaxed attitude, to the point that I suspected that she already had another man too, and even expected David to divorce her soon,” I replied casually.

Grandpa slammed the table and made me almost jump from the sofa.
“Don’t talk bad about Skylar. You’ve managed to get rid of her, so at least stop badmouthing her Grandpa snapped with a sharp glare that made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.
1 lowered my head. Anyway, if grandpa has already banged the table, it’s better to be quiet and lower your head, lest he eats you alive.
“I won’t stop you from getting engaged, but, if you still want to be in the Carter family tree, postpone the engagement with David, until 1 at least hear from Skylar,” grandpa said firmly.
I was stunned. “What if. You never hear from her? Do David and I have to wait our whole lives?”
Grandpa stood up and tapped his cane on the floor, as if to emphasize his words. Then get engaged or marry David when I’m dead!”

Jenna took a deep breath and took her phone out of her bag.
“Hello, David:”
On the other line, David was surprised to hear Jenna’s sharp voice, even calling his name in a high tone
Baby, are you upset! Is this about the announcement on the website about the hotel closing?” David asked softly. “What’s wrong”
Jenna took a deep breath and tried to answer calmly. She couldn’t make David upset with her and end up making him angry, Instead of being honest with her.
“Sorry, babe,” Jenna said, “I just met Skylar and she’s making me very frustrated”
“Wait for me,” David said. “Till see you soon. Where are you now?”
“A home. My mom just left and my dad is out of town, Jenna said. “Do you want to come!”
“Yes. Wait for me, okay?
Less than half an hour later, David was sitting in Jenna’s living room. He put his arm around Jenna who was leaning against him.
“What’s wrong? David asked. “You’ve been very quiet since I got here. Are you still upset with Skylar?”
Jenna told Skylar everything that had been discussed, but skipped the part about David. That would be discussed last.
“I wonder where Skylar learned to be so arrogant and stubborn” David said in an imitated tone. “She shouldn’t have treated you like that, considering she was never there for your grandfather, but instead got the main inheritance”
Jenna looked up and stared at David. “David, do you regret divorcing Skylar and choosing to be with me?”
David looked at Jenna in surprise. He bent down and planted a kiss on Jenna’s plump lips
“Why do you ask?” David said. “I only love you and will never turn away from you. You saved my life, but you also make me happy.”
David’s words made Jenna blush. I ask because I’m worried. Skylar is now the main heir to The Carter fortune, nor me.
David stroked Jenna’s hair. “That’s not a problem for me. I have my own company and you have the hotel. We’ll be happy together, even if you don’t inherit The Carter.
Jenna pulled away from David’s embrace. Then why are you so insistent on meeting Skylar in person? What’s going on that makes you think there’s something unfinished between you two?”
