Chapter 25
Lindsey was stunned on the spot.
The blush on her face suddenly faded away. When she left, she thought she would never see it again in her life, and the fire seemed to have happened just yesterday.
I didn’t expect to see you again after three years.
Kevin stood outside with a swollen face, his right hand wrapped in thick bandages, looking disheveled and attracting the attention of passersby.
Lindsey turned her head with a low mood, pulled the corners of her mouth at Emanuel, and said, “I’m sorry, I’m not feeling well, and I want to go back first. We can talk about it next time, or chat online.”
After finishing talking, she picked up her bag and walked away.
Emanuel stepped forward and took her hand, calmly walking in front of her. He whispered, “I’ll walk you home.”
The two of them walked out of the coffee shop side by side.
Kevin immediately came to them, looking excitedly at Lindsey and calling out, “Lena…”
He wanted to hold her hand as he spoke, but the next second Emanuel immediately turned and wrapped Lindsey in his arms, with a stern face warning him, “Don’t touch her.”
Seeing this, Kevin was both anxious and angry.
He felt as if something that belonged to him had been taken away, but he

couldn’t believe that Lindsey would have any connection with the man in front of him, so he declared his sovereignty: “She is my wife.”
Upon hearing the words “wife,” Lindsey’s expression turned cold.
She walked out of Emanuel’s arms, looked at Kevin coldly, and emphasized once again, “I am not Lena, Lena died three years ago. I am Lindsey now. Mr. Halden, please have some self–respect and stop bothering me.”
“No.” Kevin stamped his foot in frustration, his eyes red as he said, “You are my Lena, don’t push me away, okay? Do you know how much I’ve missed you these past three years?”
“Back then, I almost went with you, but in the end, I was saved and brought back. You have no idea how I survived more than a thousand days in these three years. I miss you so much that I almost went crazy. Please don’t be so cruel to me.” The person spoke with a pained expression and earnest words.”
But she found it ridiculous in her eyes, this belated affection was cheaper than grass.
Cruel to him?! Wasn’t he the one who was cruel to her back then?
Thinking back to three years ago, Lindsey’s lips curled into a mocking smile. “Mr. Halden, you really have a lot of important people in your life, but you seem to have forgotten how you treated me for Zoey three years ago. Why bother coming here and pretending to be affectionate?”
Whenever Zoey was mentioned, she felt disgusted.
Kevin’s heart sank as he lowered his gaze and admitted painfully, “Yes, I made a mistake by trusting Zoey, but I have already made her pay for it. It was only later that I found out she was behind all of this, and also,
Mom… I’m sorry.”

“Enough!! Lindsey’s heart sank at the mention of Patricia, this was something she couldn’t let go of and couldn’t forgive.”
She glared at Kevin fiercely, “Kevin, can’t you just admit it generously now? You hurt me over and over again, not because you believed her wrongly, but because you have always loved her!”

“The sudden breakup between you two years ago has always been a regret in your heart, so when you met again, you still felt a spark, even blindly defending her unconditionally.”
I have already accepted this fact and also paid for my mistakes. Why do you still déceive yourself here, disgust each other?“.
Kevin was touched in his heart and fell silent.
For the past three years, he had been avoiding this issue and never dared to admit it because of his vacillation, which led to the deaths of his mother–in–law and wife.
He also didn’t know why it was like this. Clearly, he had already fallen in love with Lena, but when Zoey appeared, he couldn’t help but want to take care of her.
Perhaps, as they said, he always harbored a sense of regret and unwillingness in his heart. Later, he managed to fill this regret as he wished. But in the end, he lost the most precious loved one.
Seeing Kevin in pain, Lindsey no longer had any pity for him and turned around to leave.
Who knew that a person suddenly rushed out from around the corner, shouting, “Lena, go to hell!”
