I could see that his phone had been on a call, which meant he had heard every word of our conversation.

Eline changed her tune quickly. Her frail and pitiful act successfully drew all of Victor’s attention.
Victoria, seething with rage, clenched her teeth in fury.
She suddenly took the gun from me and fired wildly at Eline’s belly.
“Go to hell! Why should you be above me just because you’re pregnant?”
Everyone was stunned.
The once pristine hospital ward had become a living hell.
When she turned the gun toward me, Antonio swiftly kicked it away and twisted her arm behind her back.
Catherine collapsed onto the floor, clutching her chest and gasping for help.
But no one paid her any attention.
Victor, staring at the blood on his hands, let out a heart–wrenching wail.
