At the entrance of the classroom, a dozen bodyguards surrounded Finnegan. Standing at the foot of the steps, Harvey exuded.

“But you have your crossbow now,” Niamh reminded him, her heart pounding with excitement. “You’re an unbeatable little sharpshooter!”
Beau gripped the mechanical crossbow and squinted one eye, taking his aim.
He had never been able to overpower Bambi before. But now, things were different.

He pulled the trigger, and the metal arrow shot forward.
Elara, focused entirely on Bambi, suddenly felt a chill at the back of her head. She turned just in time to see Beau holding the crossbow
Her face tumed ashen. She whipped around–only to see Theodore collapsing onto the ground while holding Bambi.
A sharp metal arrow was embedded in Theodore’s back, with only the feathered end still visible above his torn shirt.
His face quickly drained of color, and his brows furrowed in pain.
