He just sat there in the coffee shop until it closed before leaving.
He didn’t know what to do, his heart was full of pain. The more it was so, the more clearly, he perceived how important Aurora was to him. He had actually lost her just like that!
If Isabelle hadn’t come back…
If he had realized he loved Aurora a step earlier…
If he hadn’t disappointed Aurora…
Countless possibilities flashed through his mind, but there was no turning back for him.
He wandered aimlessly on the streets abroad, a bolt of lightning struck, followed by heavy rain. Everyone on the road scurried home to take shelter from the rain, but Sebastian didn’t know where to go.
He walked in the rain, muttering Aurora’s name, soaked to the bone.
Suddenly, his phone rang. He picked it up expectantly; it was a message from Lydia.
“Sebastian, come back.”
He looked at the sentence and suddenly felt powerless. Why had he and Aurora ended up like this?
He knelt down in the torrential rain, crying and shouting in pain. The sound of the rain drowned out everything, including his anguished emotions.
He staggered to an apartment building. The door was tightly shut, and he didn’t dare to knock. He just curled up by the doorway. This was Aurora’s residence, and only here did he feel a sliver of solace in his heart.
He hadn’t slept for several days, and now, drenched in rain, lying by the door, he surprisingly drifted off into a deep sleep.
In his dream, Aurora forgave him and returned to the country with him. They were just like before, but what was different was that in the dream, he didn’t let Aurora down again. He immediately announced their relationship and even proposed to her.
Aurora, tears in her eyes, threw herself into his arms, saying she had finally waited for this day.
Sebastian smiled slightly, as if he had grasped his own happiness.
Then, he fainted in the torrential rain.
When he opened his eyes again, he felt his head hurt a lot, and his body was unable to move. He struggled to open his eyes and saw an unfamiliar ceiling. He wanted to get out of bed, but the next moment, a gentle voice came.
“Don’t move.”
It was Aurora.
Hearing that voice, Sebastian couldn’t care less about anything. He abruptly got up and tightly embraced the person beside the bed, holding them with the force of someone who had lost something and found it again.
“Aurora, have you forgiven me?! I know I was wrong. I will spend my whole life making it up to you, Aurora. Please believe me. I truly was wrong. I can’t live without you, I…” He cried as he spoke, feelings of remorse surging through him like a tumultuous river, filling his heart with bitterness. He hugged the person in his arms tightly, unwilling to let go.
“Sebastian, stop. I’m only doing this for Lydia. If you died at my doorstep, Lydia would be very sad.” She frowned and struggled out of his embrace.
At this moment, Sebastian finally had the chance to carefully look at her face. In her eyes, there was no trace of emotion, only disgust.
That expression pierced his heart. His face turned pale, and his hands were still suspended in mid–air, not knowing what to do. He could only stare blankly at Aurora, as if looking at the person he loved most but could never have. Sadness filled his entire being. With a hoarse voice, he called out her
name.
“Aurora…”
Aurora didn’t respond, her eyes cold.
Tve already called Lydia, she’ll come pick you up. Sebastian, don’t come looking for me anymore, I’m doing just fine here without you.”
“Aurora…”
‘Let what’s past be past. From the moment you chose Isabelle, we were over.”
“Aurora…” The man’s voice got more painful with each word. He looked deeply at the person in front of him, so close, yet feeling so far away from him,

“Do we really have no chance left?” he asked, looking over with a last bit of hope.
Aurora finally looked him in the eye, responding word for word.
“Yes, we no longer have any
chance.”
As if pierced by a thousand arrows, Sebastian’s heart ached to the point of death. He wanted to reach out and touch her face again, but even that wish was mercilessly dodged by Aurora.
Sebastian’s eyes were bloodshot, and tears fell.
“Okay, okay…” he said, his heart aching uncontrollably.
