A soldier whispered something in Antonio’s ear, and Antonio pulled a serious face right away.
Then, while I was still kneeling, Antonio took Krista and trotted to the vehicle.
Seeing Lance Simard’s grim face, Antonio got worried and said carefully, “Colonel Simard, I just got home.
“Something happened, and I am still dealing with it.
“I’ll report to you tomorrow.
“I apologize if there’s anything that I didn’t do well.”
Lance gave him a cold look.
“Where is Grace?”
Right after Lance said that, Aaron stumbled over, covering his head.
Aaron had just regained his consciousness.
“Colonel Simard, Mrs. Simard is at the door of the Kaufman’s place.”
Lance pushed the vehicle’s door open, which hit Antonio to the ground.
“If anything happens to Grace, I’ll kill you all!” Lance gnashed his teeth and left.
Pop–eyed, Antonio thought, “What did Colonel Simard say?

“Is Grace Colonel Simard’s wife?”
A chill traveled down Antonio’s spine.
Under the crowd’s gaze, Lance ran to the Kaufman’s place with worry.
Before I could see his face clearly, I fainted from blood loss.
Lance caught me before I fell to the ground.
“Grace, what happened to you?
“Military surgeon!
“Go fetch a military surgeon!
“Save my wife!”
Lance always looked calm, but now he was panicking.
Aaron got a military surgeon over.
The surgeon examined me and knitted his brows.
Then, he turned to Lance and said carefully, “Mrs. Simard can live if we take her to the hospital now.
“But the baby…”
The surgeon didn’t finish the sentence, but what he meant was obvious.
Tears welled up in Lance’s eyes.
“It’s OK.
“Save my wife in every possible way!”
Lance carried me to the ambulance at a fast pace.

Antonio and Krista felt dizzy after they were hit to the ground.
When they stood up, they saw the scene.
Antonio’s heartbeat accelerated.
It was the first time that Antonio saw Lance so emotional.
Krista asked in a shaky voice, “Antonio, she is Colonel Simard’s wife?
“What do we do now?”
Hearing that, Antonio got more irritated.
“How would I know?”
Krista patted Antonio and comforted him. “It should be OK. Since Colonel Simard didn’t make their relationship public, he shouldn’t take Grace seriously.
“You guarded the border.
“Colonel Simard must know who is more important.”
Antonio thought that Krista had a point, so he just went home after Lance took me away
In the ambulance, Antonio grabbed my hand in silence with bloodshot eyes.
Aaron told him what had happened.
Watching the change in Lance’s expressions, Aaron was getting more afraid.
When Aaron knew about the livestream, he broke out into a cold sweat, because everything about Lance should be revealed on a need–to–know

Although Lance was in an urgent military meeting, Aaron still rushed in and told him what was happening.
Lance’s face darkened.

Aaron headed for the security office right away.
Then, Lance wrapped up the meeting hurriedly and went there too.
However, it was still too late.
Antonio was so arrogant that he didn’t even listen to me explain.
When Lance saw how badly injured I was, he trembled despite himself, his heart aching.
After all, Lance was always gentle with me.
“What Antonio did today is unforgivable. Fire him.
“And give me a list of those who hurt Grace today.
“I’ll take Grace’s revenge.
“Besides, look into what Antonio did on the border.”
Aaron made a mental note and nodded.
Suddenly, Lance thought about something and asked with a frown, “Have you taken care of everything about the livestream?”
Aaron nodded again.

“And I had all related videos deleted.”
Lance nodded, catching a glimpse of Aaron’s wobbling and the bloodstains on his forehead.
“Thank you for what you did.
“When we get to the hospital, go have your wound treated.”
Aaron lowered his head, tears stinging his eyes.
“Sir, I failed to protect Mrs. Simard. I’m sorry…”
I was nice to people around Lance, so they all liked me.
Lance interrupted him and thought for a while. “It’s not your fault.
“He’s bold.
“He shouldn’t have done that to anyone, let alone my wife.”
When the ambulance got to the hospital, the doctors who were waiting took me to the operating room right away.
The operation lasted the whole night.
