There was another important reason for switching to the cello.
In about twenty days, my husband was due to check in on the children’s progress. If they passed his inspection, I’d rece-
ive a handsome bonus.
If not, I’d get nothing.
So, for the money, I was going all in.
The cello teacher I hired for Monica was relatively unknown. But what no one knew was that she was secretly the last
disciple of the world–famous cellist, Professor Albright.
If this teacher discovered Monica’s raw talent and recommended her to the Professor…
Heh, heh, heh…
My bonus from my husband would be massive, wouldn’t it?
I grew more excited just thinking about it.
Once he came back and kicked me out, I’d have beauty and wealth.
་
Maldives, here I come, with all your cute boy toys!
As Matt kneaded my shoulders, he secretly put more force into it.
I flinched.
“Mm, not bad,” I commented. “You’ve got some strength.”
Matt gave a cold, smug smile.
But my next words plunged him into an icy abyss.
You’ve got the makings of a martial artist.”
I looked at him. “Since you look down on the cello teacher so much, you can skip the music lessons. You’ll learn martial
arts instead.”
Matt: …
I was a woman of my word. I immediately found a martial arts instructor to give Matt one–on–one training.
I secretly told the instructor to ramp up the intensity.
Matt stared at me with pure venom in his eyes.
I stared right back, undaunted.
“What are you looking at? Keep staring and I’ll pop those little eyes out.”
He turned his face away, silently enduring his fate.
Heh, heh, heh…
I just loved it when he despised me but was completely powerless to do anything about it.
