I thought my ill–fated connection with Aiden was over, but while waiting for Lucas in the parking lot, Aiden kidnapped me.
“What are you doing? Let go of me!”
Aiden looked at me with crazed joy, a hint of madness in his expression.
“Whether Chloe or Lucy, from today on, you’ll be my Chloe forever.“”
I couldn’t believe he would go this far. My eyes blazed with anger.
“Aiden, you’re insane!”
He didn’t answer, tossing a stack of photos in front of me instead.
When I saw the person in the photos, my breath caught.
Lily. Dead.
She died horribly, every photo stained crimson with blood.
He stroked my hair gently, saying softly:
“Chloe, I know she did many terrible things. I’ve avenged you. Now punish me for my mistakes, okay?”
He placed a dagger in my palm, guiding my hand to slash his body over and over. After 52 cuts, he collapsed beside me, smiling as he pulled me into his arms.
“Now we can be together.”
He even stuffed a fake marriage certificate into my hand
“This time, let’s do everything we should for our wedding”
smiling in satisfaction.
I stared at him in horror, unable to push him away no matter how hard I tried
“Stop struggling. I put a sedative in my blood. It’s useless.”
Aiden had truly gone mad.
He held me with a look of contentment, his hands starting to tear at my clothes. Tears silently rolled down my face.
“Don’t force me to hate you!”
He acted as if he hadn’t heard, growing more and more frenzied. At the critical moment, the door was kicked open.
The next second, Aiden went flying like a kite with cut strings.
Lucas stood there with bloodshot eyes, beating Aiden within an inch of his life.
I hugged Lucas tightly around the waist. “Lucas, that’s enough.”
“You feel sorry for him!” He said through gritted teeth.
I shook my head, wrapping his bloodied hand in my clothes. “No, I feel bad that you’re hurt. Try this instead.”
Lucas laughed despite his anger. He left the battered and bleeding Aiden behind, carrying me away.
Aiden called out something to me as we left. I didn’t listen.
On New Year’s Eve, my brothers and I gathered around the table for our reunion dinner.
Laughter and chatter filled the entire villa. As the countdown began, the door was pushed open.
We all turned to look.
An old man stood in the doorway, tears streaming down his face.
The end.
