Chapter 33
Alpha Kodak’s POV
Things turned out better than expected, but the surprise appearance of Alpha Marrock caught me off guard.
It was delusional of him to believe that our relationship could return to normal after the disgrace and humiliation he caused.
Not only did he subject me to the whip, but he also shamelessly shared it with other pack leaders, tarnishing my reputation.
However, I managed to handle the situation effectively. My top priority was protecting my pup, and I was determined to leave no stone unturned in ensuring her safery.
My seemingly possessive behavior towards Luna Lovette was a facade, with rehearsed lines I planned to use when faced with those kinds of questions during our wedding but was now put to use differently.
The anticipated confrontation at the wedding would no longer materialize, but the unexpected encounter with Alpha Marrock brought it to the
forefront
Given Luna Lovette’s pregnancy, it was only natural for me to assume the role of protector, even though she was strong and independent
Alright. Since Raul here, I will accompany you and Cassius, 1 informed her, though she seemed hesitant about my offer.
Beta Cassius had efficiently managed the pack in our absence, a testament to his leadership skills.
However, it was logical for Luna Lovette to return to her pack with her beta by her side but the mention of the visitors during her phone conversation with Embry put me on the edge
After the recent rogue encounter, I was adamant about ensuring her safety during the journey of the pregnancy until she delivered.
“Alpha Kodak, you need not accompany us. Cassius and I are more than capable of looking after ourselves.”
Why did I find her words annoying? Why should Cassius be taking care of her when it was my pup she was carrying!
“I’m coming with you, and you won’t stop me. Did you forget about the visitors in your pack whom you know nothing about? What if they are
trouble?”
Her raised brows indicated her realization that she had forgotten about them.
“Okay, if it’s not too much trouble, but the wedding is tomorrow anyway,” she reminded me as if that would deter me
Luna Lovette could do as she pleased after the pup was born, but until they, I would not allow her to have her way.
“Isn’t it a good thing we decided not to host it at either of our packs so that troublemakers would leave with their trouble” I reminded her.
She seemed to have given up arguing with me upon realizing I was not ready to give in
“If you insist, then Cassius will be our driver, and if you are coming back, I will lend you one of my cars.
I wanted us to ride in my car with Cassius driving alone, but something told me she would refuse, especially since she had already decided on Caius driving both of us.
I honestly don’t like her cars. They feel too feminine, but I had no choice this time around.
The road was dark and lonely, and I was worried that she hadn’t slept. About the car, it wasn’t exactly how I thought it to be.
It was rather different on the inside than it looked on the outside. However, as Beta Cassius drove, she pressed her head against my shoulder, and her breathing evened out
It was a natural sign that she was beginning to trust my security, making me sigh with relief.
Though I wanted to sleep too, I felt the need to stay awake for her in case of another rogue attack, but thankfully, there was none.
When we reached the Silver Pack, Luna Lovette was still sleeping as the car stopped.
Beta Cassius turned around, about to say something, but I gestured for him to stay quiet by pressing my forefinger against my lips. I gently carried her out of the car, careful not to disturb her sleep.
1 wasn’t sure if Cassius had called Embry to meet us, but it was the early hours of the morning, and she was still awake.
“Welcome,” she greeted with excitement in her eyes. Embry’s warmth always calmed my wolf, making her someone I knew my pack would need.

I hushed Embry, not wanting her to wake Lovette. Since I was no stranger to her pack house, I casually walked up the stairs to Lovette’s room and placed her gently on the bed.
She was always so beautiful but, in her sleep, it was so different. More like an innocent child.
Strangely, my head lowered and my lips met her cheek. ‘Do it again, do it again, Jaguar screamed in my head, bringing me out of whatever took
control of me before.
This was just a contract so what made me so comfortable to kiss her on the cheek! It made me feel like a pervert
Still, Feould not get over the time we shared a bed by how I slept peacefully when we had different preferences in the type of sheets.
Luna Lovente loved silk bed
bedsheets, I found peace sleeping on cotton.
As 1 stepped out of the room, Embry immediately spoke, I’ve prepared a guest room for our visitors, but it’s a shame Love is asleep.”
If not for her relationship with Lovene, I would have thought she was anooping around.
However, at the moment, the Silver Pack’s responsibilities were mine every time Luna Lovette was busy or asleep
“Who are they?” I asked her She shrugged.
They wouldn’t say and even suggested that I send them to the omegas if I can’t trust them to wait at the pack house. But considering their age, I decided to welcome them to one of the guest rooms.
That was kind of her, but I wondered who lud come to ruin my peaceful morning.
A good sleep would have done me a lot of good at this moment, but I resigned and said to her,
“Okay. Lei m
me go see them.”
She led me to the guest room on the first floor and knocked on one of the doors.
It opened from the inside, and a middle–aged woman stood there with a frown on her face at the sight of me.
I couldn’t help but chuckle. “Mom, what are you doing here?” I asked, trying to sound serious but she seemed rather offended and began to chastise
- me.
“You silly boy, what do you want here! We came to surprise our future daughter–in–law”
I initially misunderstood her words in her first sentence until she added the second.
Mom was not expecting me to be the one to meet her here but most probably Luna Lovette.
The revelation surprised Embry, and she smiled. “I guess I did the right thing. I will excuse you both,” she said.
However, my mom, being a mood spoiler, didn’t wait for Embry to leave before pointing out her good qualities
I thought she was the one, but she said she wasn’t. She’s so refined and polite.”
An embarrassed smile crossed my face, and Embry mirrored it as I told my mother. “I know,”
My mother pinched my check hard, causing Embry to laugh as she spoke again. “Then don’t you think she would be good for Raul?”
I looked apologetically at Embry. Tm sorry, but I will take it from here. My mother is silly sometimes,”
She nodded with a small senile and left. My mother was not like this before, but since deciding to spend her days in Hawail and have all the fun, she became something else.
“Mom, how could you say it so directly!” I didn’t hide the annoyance in my voice. “I was planning the same thing for them.”
She was rather carited and began to do a simple dance. “That is great. You come in here and where is Lovetter
she dragged me by the collar into the room and shut the door behind me when I uw the man on the bed.
Our sounds must have woken him before our eyes met. “Dad, you are also here!”
I knew they both loved to be together, but this wasn’t my plan, so I wasn’t expecting him to support my mother in this,
“Did you think I would leave her alone?” He a
e asked in a sarcastic tour, lifting himself from the bed and pulling me harshly into his arms, panting me
on the back

To Mom and Dad,
1, I will always be an eleven–year–old, no matter the age, strengths, and wisdom I put oni.
“Anyway, Lovette is sleeping, and I doubt she will wake up anytime soon,” I pulled away and explained to them, feeling uneasy about their
treatment of me
However, my parents seemed to have come prepared in every way.
“Since the wedding is tomorrow, we are staying right here, my father said, laying back on the bed after he spoke,
Taking a closer look at the room, it was very cozy, similar to my guest rooms, but with some of those special artifacts Luna Lovette loved so much
I don’t think she will refuse, but you should have informed me about your visit. I was not pleased by this surprise.
What if an enemy took advantage and planned something like this? At the very least. I should have been aware.”
“I know, but I didn’t,” my mother gave me that infectious smile, forcing me to hold back anything else I wanted to say, though I felt no remorse,
“Alright let me go rest” I almost reached the door when my mother blocked me with her silhouette
“No, young man, we have to talk. What is the deal with this pregnancy! I hope this marriage is real because I won’t allow any form of divorce,” my mom said seriously, causing the smile to freeze on my face
