Chapter 40
Luna Lovette’s POV
Alpha Kodak’s actions were strange, but I was too tired to stop him when his arms wrapped around me.
The fact that he didn’t go any
ny further
was reassuring, but it happened again.
Sharing a bed with him always brought me a sense of calmness, but I knew we needed to establish boundaries that we both had to respect.
Despite this, I found myself enjoying a peaceful sleep until I was awakened by a knock on the door.
I opened my eyes to see Kodak at the door, relieved that he was dressed casually and not in a towel like yesterday.
“Who is it” 1 asked Kodak, noticing the nervous look on his face
“You won’t tell me?” He was about to respond when I heard a familiar voice. “Which Alpha and Luna sleeps like this?”
It was Elder Dean. I knew that Alpha Kodak was holding back out of respect, so I went to the door. Seeing me, he asked,
“Isn’t it bad luck for the groom
groom to see the bride before the wedding? It seems like the two of you even woke up together.
His expression was a mix of excitement and rebuke, making me suspicious.
I knew how much they desired Alpha Kodak because I was a she–wolf, but unfortunately, things would remain the same even after the marriage because it was all a charade.
You are not my father and have no right to question me. I will prepare for my wedding, and you are not obligated to attend
My tone was firm, and I noticed Kodak raise his eyebrows, indicating his unfamiliarity with these elders
Given the opportunity, they would likely vie for leadership positions for their children.
While they may feign concem, it is ultimately for their own gain
The wedding is a sham, so it doesn’t matter if we see each other before it, but I couldn’t disclose that to Eider Dean.
I was surprised by how long I slept again because of Kodak, but that didn’t mean I couldn’t pin him in his place
Maybe he should stop sleeping over altogether. I mentally noted this issue to address with him after the wedding.
“I will meet you there,” Kodak said before leaving. It was clear he didn’t plan to sleep for so long, so he needed to visit his pack house to prepare for the wedding.
Not everyone from his pack would be able to attend, so preparations were necessary. We couldn’t host the wedding in either of our packs to avoid giving one an unfair advantage over the other.
Like me, Kodak hadn’t planned to sleep for so long, but there was something about being together that brought peaceful sleep, expecially with the porgnancy.
I couldn’t wait for the nine months to pass so I could finally see and hold my child.
“Love, let me get you ready. Embry said as Elder Dean left without saying anything more. Every time he strikes, I have something to render him speechless, just as I did now.
I had to leave some of my most trusted warriors in charge since both Embry and Cassius were coming along.
“I didn’t want you to see it until today, and I already made arrangements, Ergbry said with a strange excitement.
“What arrangement is that?” I asked curiously. She glanced at the door. “Well, mom and dad sent these beauticians to get you ready.”
Trouldn’t
Lexpress my shock at this moment because of how wrong
ng I felt the whole thing was.
The squad who invaded my room as if it was theirs, made me want to cry.
Embry was enough for me, and the gown was too extravagant. This was the reason Embry kept it from me, and I regreted entrusting her with it.
Everything was looking like a love marriage which it wasn’t. “It’s not necessary.” I refused.
Having had a good sleep, I was refreshed and energetic, but no one was listening to me.

Chapter 40
“Tim sorry, Love, this is your wedding, so I am in charge of making you look not just like a bride, but also a queen and a Luna”
I was lost in the whole thing, and before I could say anything, two people were working on my nails, two on my fingers, one on my hair. I wondered why no one was doing my makeup and asked them
“What about makeup?” I wasn’t excited about the whole thing but we had to finish what they started
Embry laughed, “Love, you haven’t showered yet
I facepalmed out of shyness, having forgotten that detail. After what seemed like an eternity, they finally let go, but my hair had received a different treatment and was covered with a shower cap.
After the shower, we shall continue. 1 intentionally took a long time in the shower, hoping they would skip some steps, but I was mistaken.
I have to be there in thirty minutes, I said hastily, noticing that Embry
already dressed and having her makeup done,
“Goddess, you look superb,” I complimented her, hoping she would finally find her mate.
“Thanks, but I know you’ll be the most beautiful of all, she shrugged, and I refused to argue with her.
I wasn’t allowed to see anything, but I felt time slipping away. “Il be late.”
It’s a tradition for the bride to be late.” Embry said. I shook my head, not knowing what to say anymore.
After what seemed like hours, I was finally left alone as Embry led me to the mirror. I knew I was good–looking, but the transformation was splendid
My long hair was curled in a way that made it look like waves. The makeup wasn’t heavy, but I couldn’t pinpoint the reason for the change.
And then the gown. It fit me perfectly, and I was amazed because I never had any fitting sessions.
“You look stunning, Luna Lovette, the beautician, said. I had to fight back the tears. If only it were real and there was love between us, but this was necessary for my pup.
The venue was just a forty–five minutes‘ drive away but felt like forever. Mom and Dad had an eye for the best.
My selected pack members had already left and so had my elders. For a moment. I thought elder Dean would stay back but there was no sign of him, meaning he already went ahead.
“Embry, you have to go first, and don’t worry. I will take care of her, Mom said when she reached us, not allowing any of the security to come close
“I have seen many brides, but you are exceptional: Your beauty is rare,” she said, a tear fell from my eye, which seemned to disturb her, “Did I say something wrong! I’m very sorry,” she apologized, I felt bad. It Kodak had sweet parents like this, then why was he the way he was. Then I reminded myself that he had his soft sides too, so
some of which pertained to his carrying me to bed and getting me feminine supplies by
“No, it’s just that my mom used those same words for me before,” I said honestly, missing my mother so much, I saw the sadness in Mom’s eyes, as she chastised me lovingly.
“Didn’t I tell you that from now on, I would be your mom and my mate your dad? Trust me, even if things don’t work out between you and my son, I will still be your mother”
was the best thing I lud heard today, and without permission, I embraced her, feeling comfortable in her presence.
Her words dispeed every fear and discomfort I had ever felt regarding my relationship with Kodak.
Mom and Dad had chosen the grandest hotel among the packs, hosting the event in their garden. The decor reflected their style perfectly
A mix of elegance, sophistication, and beauty surrounded me as I walked down the aisle, feeling all eyes on me.
My selected pack members attended in their numbers and with the phones in their hands, pictures would soon circulate around the pack.
The selected members of the Silent Claw Pack were also here in their numbers and the interesting part being that there was no separation between
them
The selected members from both parks interacted freely with each other, bring a sense of unity between them.
Alplu Kodak looked even more handsome than when he left my pack. I appreciated the effort he had put into his already attractive appearance, jusi as Eimbry lud done with me.

Chapter 40
“She’s stunning, and they are a perfect match, the rumors began. I couldn’t catch all of them, but the ones that reached my ears were positive.
“If I had her beauty, I would flaunt it, I overheard someone say, which almost made me laugh until I locked eyes with Zeeva
I didn’t linger on the thought but noticed Alpha Jephthah as well, looking like he wanted to disappear.
Embry was beaming with joy as I approached the altar, and she whispered eagerly, “I have good news.
I was curious to hear it, but the marriage official was ready, and Raul’s indifferent expression bothered me. We focused on the officiator.
We are gathered here to witness the union of Alpha Kodak and Luna Lovette.”
Cheers and applause filled the ambiance. Alpha Kodak smiled at me, and I felt a mix of excitement and unease
As footsteps drew near, a shadowy figure appeared at the walkway entrance, stirring strange emotions within me. The man’s words clarified everything.
“Luna Lovette is my mare.”
I froze suddenly but noticed a peculiar smile on both Zeeva and Alpha Jephthah’s face.
