Chapter 53
After a scream, Melissa shrank back to the edge of the bed and looked down at herself, seeing her clothes were intact,
Being woken up by her scream, Bradley looked extremely annoyed. He slowly sat up. “Shut up! You’re so loud.”
“Why are you here?” Melissa wrapped herself tightly in the blanket
Bradley got out of bed, replying, “Is this how you talk to your savior?”
As Melissa watched him heading toward the walk–in closet, her mind gradually cleared up. What happened last night slowly came back to her mind.
She swallowed hard, guessing frantically, ‘So, it was he who saved me from the Wallakers and brought me back But when did he climb into my bedr
Melissa tried hard to remember what happened after she got home but couldn’t recall anything.
She took several deep breaths to calm herself down. Looking at her finger wrapped in bandages, she remembered that although Bradley slept in her bed, their clothes were intact, and they each had their blanket,
Gradually, she felt a bit embarrassed as she thought, ‘Bradley might seem cold on the surface, but he was actually quite warm–hearted, Moreover, he’s very gentlemanly, not taking advantage of the situation.
She got out of bed, stood at the door of the wardrobe, cleared her throat, and spoke politely. “Um… thank you for yesterday.”
Bradley changed into clean clothes and buttoned up his shirt as he stepped out. He glanced at her sideways, his voice tinged with displeasure. “You’ve got it?”
Melissa followed behind him, replying: “Most of it, but I can’t recall why you ended up in… my bed?”
As they were both single, and there would be more meetings in the future, she thought it was better to clarify such ambiguous matters.
Bradley turned back to look at her, his gaze carrying a warning “Don’t overthink it. With your scrawny frame, you’re not even my type.”
Melissa, unpersuaded, slightly pushed out her chest. “Scrawny? I… I’m quite booby, okay!”
Bradley gave a disdainful snort and headed toward the bathroom. “You kept rolling off the bed last night. If I hadn’t blocked you, you would have slept on the floor.”
Melissa, rubbed her waist and muttered, “No wonder the excruciating pain all over. Turns out I fell to the ground.
Bradley stood at the bathroom door, complaining. “You really wore me out last night. Think about how to repay me.”
With that, he closed the bathroom door.
Embarrassed, Melissa cleared her throat and shouted through the door. “How about I make you breakfast? It’s Saturday. You’re not going to the odice, right?”
Bradley was brushing his teeth and didn’t respond.
Taking it as consent, Melissa headed to the kitchen,
Life supplies here had always been delivered by Bradley’s people, so even if she was short on money, her fridge was always well–stocked
After stewing the beef in the stove, she then fiddled with some side dishes, fingers swathed in gauze propped up.
Meanwhile, she tried to recall what happened last night.
She never imagined that the club the went to would belong to Bradley; if she had known, she would never have gone there.
Now, she couldny keep her job at the club, as Bradley definitely wouldn’t allow it. With a few days left, she might as well look for another joli.
After last night’s interactions, she found that Bradley was quite nice. Perhaps if she pleaded with him, he would nullify the agreement.
With this in mind, she then thought of the Wallakers, her lips curling up into a sneer.
Although she suffered last night, overall, it felt like a quite satisfying revenge.
Now that she had the video, she guessed Hannah wouldn’t dare to show off in front of her again.
Bradley come out of the bathroom, she called out, “I noticed you like to have beef stew for breakfast. It’s on the stove. Should be ready in
