Chapter 202
Calvin skimmed through the list of Leo’s deeds. The items included fake meds, organ harvesting, blood draws, and experimental procedures, all dressed up as treatments for him.
Calvin’s eyes went wide in disbelief. How could he… I thought he was just a little selfish. This is way beyond selfishness now. If this ever gets out, Ill be the one everyone spits on.
He made others think that 1 would stop at nothing to cure my legs, even sacrificing others lives… Calvin thought, gasping for breath.
He’d trusted Leo more than anyone, and now he realized Leo had been skimming, switching, and selling off his meds. No wonder my leg never got any better all these years.
Calvin lowered his head in defeat, eyes blazing with anger and hatred for his own blindness, for letting a wolf into his home. He had no one to blame but himself.
“Sienna, Imisjudged him. I’m sorry, this is all on me.
The Z5 serum was a token of Sienna’s goodwill, yet he… thought Calvin.
Uncle, this really isn’t your fault. The one to blame is Leo. He’s cold–blooded and scheming. You don’t need to carry the weight of his crimes. What matters now is making sure Leo pays for what he’s done. “Whether you want to call the police or not, that’s entirely up to you, Sienna said.
Her words we
were gentle yet carried a quiet strength, striking straight to the heart.
Calvin couldn’t let a scumbag like Leo get away with this. He nodded, determination in his eyes. “I’m calling the police, Sienna. He has to pay for what he’s done. By the way, Josef said he was going to find Leo and get the Z5 serum back, but I’m sure he didn’t succeed.”
Sienna’s lashes fluttered as she stood up and glanced back. A man in a suit, about thirty years old, was walking over.
“Uncle. I actually have something to take care of over there, so I’ll stop by and let Josef know on the way. You just rest. Don’t worry about the 25 serum. This doctor is someone I trust, and he’s here for you. I’ve brought you a new dose of the 25 serum, so let him give you the injection. Once your body is ready for surgery, I’ll personally make all the arrangements, Sienna said.
Calvin didn’t know how to thank Sienna. He wanted to say he was sorry for troubling her so much, but Sienna just patted his shoulder.
She gave him a gentle smile. “Uncle, this was also my mother’s last wish. She always hated that things turned so hostile between you all But honestly, no one was really to blame back then. You were all just doing what you thought was right. So please, don’t beat yourself up over it. My mom had already forgiven you long ago. She just never got the chance to say it. There are a few letters among her belongings that we couldn’t open. They’re probably meant for you. I’ll have someone bring them over later.”
As Sienna finished speaking, she felt as if a huge weight had finally been lifted from her heart. These were words she should have spoken ten years ago.
After Sienna left, Calvin was left alone, sobbing like a child.
Sienna took the file on Leo, her features icy and her demeanor detached. Her gaze landed on Leo’s photo, a dangerous glint flashing in
“Go find Josef first. He’s probably in trouble,” she said.
With the deal about to go down, Leo was bound to get desperate.
Sjenna’s guess was spot on. Josef really was in trouble
He had just dropped off the 25 serum at the testing center when Leo suddenly showed up, saying he needed Josef’s help with something
it
Joset let his guard down and didn’t see is coming. Leo hit him from behind with something hard, knocking him out cold. In a daze, Josef vaguely felt himself being hauled into a car then a sharp ating in his arm. Someone was injecting something into him.
