Chapter 231
“Sienna, who is he?” Vivian asked, spotting a man in the living room, kicking back with his legs crossed, casually tossing grapes into his mouth.
“Just a friend from abroad, Sienna replied, her tone flat.
Thorn Noir turned his head and cut in, “We’re not just regular friends. Let me introduce myself. I’m Thorn Noir. Sienna spent all ten years overseas with me, you know.”
Thorn sure knew how to make things sound suspicious.
Of course, Vivian totally misunderstood him. Her eyes went wide as she pointed at him. “You’re Sienna’s boyfriend?”
Thorn was over the moon at that. He thought to himself, “She really knows how to talk. If I could, I’d hand her a couple million right now just to show my appreciation.
Sienna kept a straight face. “No, he’s just a chauffeur I used to hire.”
“Huh?” Vivian instantly got it. “Wait, guys? Such a handsome guy is working as a chauffeur now?”
Thorn sighed, almost choking on his grape. ‘A chauffeur? Seriously?‘ he wondered.
If being her chauffeur meant sticking by Sienna’s side every day, he’d do it in a heartbeat.
What are you doing here? Didn’t I tell you not to disturb my life?‘ Sienna said coldly.
Thorn felt a wave of irritation at her frosty tone. “She never talks to Whiner like this, he thought. “She’s so blatantly playing favorites. I can’t accept that
“I’m not here to disturb your life. I’m here to join you guys, Thorn replied.
Vivian was speechless. ‘Are people really this desperate for a job these days?”
“Get out,” Sienna said expressionlessly, sitting down across from him.
Thorn straightened up, feeling a weird pang in his chest. With a bit of resentment, he asked, “Why are you so cold to me, but so gentle with Whiner–uh, Wayne,. Do you like him?”
Sienna lowered her eyes, took a sip of coffee, and shot him a chilly glance. “Whatever I do has nothing to do with you.”
“How i ΠΟΠΕ of my business? There’s a lot going g on between us,” Thorn shot back right away.
“Just spit it out, Sienna snapped.
Thorn arched an eyebrow with a cheeky grin, eyeing the cup in her hand. “You know, I like to drink coffee in pairs. That cup? I already sipped it. You don’t mind, do you?”
Sienna felt her chest tighten, anger flashing in her eyes. She gripped the cup and slammed it down on the table with a loud thud.
Seeing her pissed off. Thorn just kept teasing, his tone shameless. “Come on, we’re so close. Why sweat the small stuff? Right? Okay, my bad. I didn’t drink from it, I swear. Just messing with you, really?
One moment, Thorn was all smiles, and the next, he leapt up in shock, staring at the fruit knife stabbed right sitting. He felt a chill run down his spine. He’d almost lost his most precious asset.
age woman, Thorn grumbled to himself. How could she treat her future husband like this?

Sure, his odds of actually becoming her husband were maybe one percent at best, but hey, one never knew–maybe one day, if they had alid, he’d get promoted thanks to the Title one

Sienna couldn’t be bothered to argue with him. “Got it
“I knew you’d wait, seriously! You agreed? No take–backs, you promised. I’ll be waiting for you at eight tonight.” Thorn called out. springing to his feet and waving as he hurried out the door.
He dashed off in case Sienna changed her mind if he lingered even a second longer.
“Sienna, are you really going? You and him–Vivian asked, her voice full of curiosity.
‘No way a guy that good–looking is just a chauffeur, I can’t be sure about anything else, but one thing’s obvious. He’s definitely after Sienna. Vivian thought to herself.
“I’m not going. Sienna replied flatly.
Vivian stared in shock, pointing at the guy who just left. “Wait, but didn’t you just agree to go?”
Sienna burst out laughing at Vivian’s reaction. I only said I got it, not that I was actually going.”
“Oh, I see.” Vivian nodded her head three times in a row, the realization finally dawning on her. ‘So Sienna knows how to play word games too, she thought, a little impressed.
Meanwhile, Thorn was impeccably groomed, polished to perfection.
Ever since he left the Hart residence, he’d had a stylist give him a full makeover. Now, as he waited at the entrance of the event, people passing by couldn’t help but steal a few extra glances at him.
He wore a deep blue suit that radiated mystery and sophistication.

His features were exquisite, with deep amber eyes that seemed to hold a thousand secrets. His striking bone of a royal prince, tall and powerfully built, yet every bit as refined.
Thorn figured Sienna definitely wouldn’t want him picking her up, so he took the hint and didn’t insist.
He waited outside in high spirits, fussing with his hair and glancing at the time every so often. ‘Why isn’t she here yet? We’re about to miss the start, he thought.
Thorn sent her the invitation and event time on WhatsApp.
She must’ve gotten held up by something. I don’t mind waiting a bit longer, he told himself.
But Thorn waited and waited, and still, there was no sign of Sienna. After what felt like forever, it finally dawned on him–she totally wood him up.
Sienna? he fumed inwardly, practically shouting her name in his head. This woman is seriously ruthless. I waited all night for nothing. How could she do me like this?
