I took the mic with a smile and motioned for my assistant to bring out the box of prepared slips.
“Sorry to make you all sit through so many weddings. I came up with a game this time. All single guys are welcome to play.
“Whoever draws number 100 gets to marry me and get the support from the Sullivan Group.”
Ryan looked panicked and shouted in protest, “No! I don’t agree!”
But no one even looked his way.
Every camera turned toward me.
The Sullivan Group might not be at its peak anymore, but it was still a powerhouse.
With their support, any company could break into the top ten.
That thought had everyone scrambling to draw lots.

He sounded a little awkward, but there was a clear smile in his voice. “Ms. Sullivan, looks like we’ve got a new groom.”
Ryan’s expression shifted, and he raised his voice in frustration. “I said Tessa’s in love with me! Are you deaf or—”
He froze when he saw who it was.
“Nathan Bennett?! When did you get back?”
The room burst into chaos.
All eyes turned to Nathan.
Albert looked excited and instinctively started walking toward him.
But he stopped when he saw the cold look in Nathan’s eyes.
Jenna clenched her fists, a flash of malice in her eyes.
She forced a smile through gritted teeth.
“Nathan, how could you come back without telling us? Mom thought going abroad would’ve taught you a little respect-

The crowd was bustling with whispers.
Nathan walked up calmly and kissed the back of my hand.
“Ms. Sullivan, let me reintroduce myself. Nathan Bennett, your future husband.”
I flinched slightly, heart pounding as I looked at his dead–serious expression.
Ryan’s face darkened instantly. He pulled me behind him roughly.
With a fake smile, he said, “Nathan, did your time abroad mess with your eyesight?
“Let me make it clear–this is my wife, Tessa Sullivan. Your sister–in-
law.”
He emphasized the word “sister–in–law,” like it was some kind of warning.
“Tessa, stop making trouble.
“Sorry, everyone. Let’s continue the wedding!”
He picked up the ring and moved to slip it on my finger, hands shaky with
urgency.
When I pushed him away again, his frustration exploded.

“Tessa, what the hell are you doing?”
Jenna was getting anxious, too, winking at me nonstop.
“Tessa, whatever it is, we’ll talk at home, okay? Don’t turn this into a joke in front of everyone.”
Albert watched everything in silence, deep in thought.
Jenna knew that if Nathan really planned to marry Tessa, Albert wouldn’t hesitate to replace the groom.
As if she didn’t know he was still hung up on that dead woman.
Just thinking about it made her seethe with rage.
