Chapter 9
The Beast King and his beastmen showed up at our door, demanding me to surrender, right when Kaelen was all over me, begging for hugs and kisses.
And just like that, we got interrupted.
“Claudia! Come out and surrender right now, and maybe I’ll consider going easy on you. If you don’t, you should know that my beastmen haven’t touched a woman in ages!”
Right after that, loud laughter and howls erupted outside.

a feel Kaelen freeze next to me. The air around him grew heavy.
He was pissed.
Without saying a word, he stood up and threw on his robe. After giving me a quick kiss on the lips, he flew right out the door.
What followed was the sound of things breaking and people screaming for mercy.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t know you were inside!”
Peeking through the crack in the door, I saw the Beast King, who had been intimidating moments ago, now grovelling in front of Kaelen, his posture as humble as could be.
All around him, the other beastmen were lying on the floor, groaning in pain.
Wow, a fox in heat really was terrifying.
“You call yourself the Beast King, but you got played like an idiot. Now get lost!”
The Beast King was furious when he realized he had been tricked. He ended up dragging Maisie and Justin back with him that very same day.
Still, since Maisie and Justin were people the Roffes always protected, the Beast King only tormented them for a while before letting them go.
What a joke. In my past life, despite being a Roffe, I was tortured to death. But in this life, Maisie and Justin actually got to live and return to the Roffes.
What about me back then? No one gave me that chance.
