Finn tried to step forward, but Evan blocked him firmly. Finn just patted Evan’s shoulder, signaling for him to move aside.
Evan said earnestly, “Mr. Eaton, let me protect you.”
Finn tossed him aside and said with displeasure, “Miss Noir, you truly surprise me. Swapping out my things right under my nose- is it that you really want?”

Sienna suddenly found Ye rather entertaining, feeling the urge to tease them a little.
“As long as Mr. Eaton stays with me tonight, I can still safely escort you back.”
Evan didn’t hesitate for a second–he quickly stepped aside. “Mr. Eaton, this is a golden opportunity! Go on, take one for the team.
In his opinion, Miss Noir was alluring, and definitely not someone ordinary. Just keep her company for one night and all of them would get her protection.
Finn thought, I must’ve been blind to ever agree to let him stay by my side.

Lana’s eyes went wide in disbelief as she stared at Sienna. Did someone possess her or something? Is she actually interested in Finn? She wondered.
To be fair, the guy was ridiculously good–looking–but Lana still felt he wasn’t worthy of Sienna. With that thought, she shot Finn a disdainful glance,

A trace of awkwardness flashed across Finn’s face as he turned away. Why does she feel so familiar, yet I can never see through her?‘ he wondered.

Sienna shook her head and took off her mask, “Finn, you’re still just as dull and uptight as ever?
At the sound of that familiar voice, Finn’s head whipped around–and there she was, Sienna Hart. Just like ten years ago, his heart started pounding wildly. That feeling he’d buried for a decade came crashing back.

Finn’s heart thundered in his chest. A storm of emotions crashed over him–regret, longing, and a bittersweet ache. If I’d agreed just now, would she really have spent the night with me?‘ he wondered.
But as soon as that thought surfaced, he immediately shut it down. He berated himself for being so indecent, because he knew full well she already had a family.
*Sienna, are you Hazel Noir as well? Fu forced himself to calm down, even though his heart was pounding like crazy.
“Yeah, that’s me, I’ve already helped get your things delivered. I was just teasing you earlier, don’t take it to heart. We’re BFF. There are still a lot of people, so let me take you back home.”
Finn wondered, a pang of disappointment in his chest Seriously, what am I even hoping for? What else could we possibly be if not friends? Am I really thinking about being the other guy here! Don’t even go there.
