Without hesitation, Winifred stuck out her leg and kicked Thom away. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” she snapped, her voice icy.

The kick sent Thorn stumbling backward. Feeling the wound on his chest throb, he shut his eyes and instantly faked a blackout.

Winifred was equally stunned. ‘Wow, is this guy the ultimate drama queen or what? she wondered.
Sienna slapped his hand away, sounding annoyed. “What are you doing here?”

“Sienna, you’re so heartless. How can you just use me and toss me aside? Did you forget? Last time, in that room, we really got to know each other, he teased, his tone full of mischief.
Sienna fixed him with a deadpan stare, her eyes cold and razor–sharp. Are you looking to die?”

Josef flashed a toothy smile, spotting Thorn and a beautiful woman with long blue hair. The other person he recognized it was Winifred.
“Thanks,” Sienna said, taking the bag and handing it to Ebert. Josef turned to Winifred and greeted her with a friendly smile. “Hey, Winifred. I’m Josef,”
Winifred just nodded, her attitude distant.
“Sienna, is he your boyfriend?” Josef asked, curiosity written all over his face. Just one look at Thorn and one could tell he was some flashy, rich playboy from overseas, handsome and a bit flamboyant.

‘Pretty lady? Who?’ they wondered. Everyone froze for a second, and it took Kress a moment to realize Josef was talking about him.
Kress’s eyes went wide, and he jumped up, fuming. “Who are you calling a pretty lady?”

Realizing it was a guy talking, Josef froze for a couple of seconds, then gave an awkward laugh and quickly apologized. “Uh, my bad. I messed up. Sorry.”
Kress was about to blow a fuse, but since the guy was Sienna’s cousin and seemed genuinely sorry, he couldn’t really make a fuss without looking petty.
“Next time, pay more attention, Kress grumbled, still fuming.
Winifred couldn’t help but tease, “Hey, pretty lady, mind moving over a bit?”
