I was stunned.
The woman was strikingly beautiful, not at all like a real person.
Between the two of us, she was vibrant and exotic, while I considered myself elegant and classical. Everyone always said I carried a serene atmosphere.
When I didn’t respond, Liam only got more anxious. He desperately wanted to prove himself.
“There are so many people in the world, but why do I only have eyes for you? Isn’t that because of fate? Otherwise, how else would I have fallen in front of you that day? Even the gods are pairing us up. Don’t tell me you already have a boyfriend?”
He grumbled right in my ear, dissatisfied.
“Well, I don’t believe it. If you had a boyfriend, he would’ve visited you at the rehabilitation facility by now!”
Then, he grinned.
“Lucky for me, I don’t have a girlfriend either. We can be a pair! It’s just nice!”
A youth’s feelings are always so passionate and hard to say no to.
I fell silent, and finally sighed. “I’m not planning to date.”
Liam paused, then pouted. “Fine, but I’m not giving up!”
As time went by, I finally fully recovered.
However, I didn’t return to my old home. Instead, I bought a single–family house nearby. It was a little villa with a small yard where I grew fruits and vegetables. I even set up an easel in the yard to paint.
Every now and then, I would complete a few paintings and enter some of them in competitions, even winning a few prizes.
After Liam Carter got better, he spent a lot of time racing with his friends, but he would still ask me to watch him compete in big races. He always begged me to come see him. The thrill and adrenaline were something I could never experience myself, but watching them live with such vigor always lifted my mood.
Later, Liam joined a racing club, so his schedule was a bit more flexible. Even so, he would come to my place to complain after every training session.
“Oh my god, turning a hobby into a job is such a pain!”
He would always bring me his trophies after competing.
“It’s only the third place this time, but I’ll win the championship one day!”
Sometimes, when he saw that I was staying in the studio too long, he would even drag me out to hang out with his friends.
He was worried that I was staying in isolation for too long.
His friends were all youths around his age, with similar interests.
