Chapter 21
Jolie’s life was plain and happy. She thought that with Kaeden by her side and her resolute attitude, Leroy, the playboy, would slowly forget about
her.
After all, he was the prince of New York’s elite, surrounded by countless flowers, it was impossible to even mention stopping for one. Not to mention she was just a stand–in, even if the main character fell, she was not worthy of the Yost family’s threshold.
A week later, Jolie went to the hospital for a check–up because she was feeling unwell. When she came back, Kaeden was missing.
Jolie carefully examined the report, feeling a sense of desolation in her
heart.
She saw a letter inserted in the door, inside there was only a bloody finger and an address of an abandoned factory in the wilderness.
Jolie rushed to the factory, her mind racing with countless possibilities. Could it be an enemy seeking revenge, or perhaps Kaeden had offended someone he shouldn’t have while working as a mercenary? But when that figure turned around, Jolie looked at him in disbelief.
“Leroy.”
“Darling, you finally came.”
Jolie was once again surrounded by the despair she had felt before, her voice hoarse with emotion. “What do you want to do?”
Leroy frowned unhappily, his expression tinged with sadness. “Jolie, why

are you looking at me like that? I just wanted to see you, to have you come back with me.”
Jolie thought Leroy was going crazy. She had made it so clear, but he just wouldn’t let her go.
Leroy scraped the iron rod in his hand on the ground, making a “crackling” sound that sent shivers down people’s spines.
He looked at her, as if pleading, “Please, come back with me, okay?”
Jolie tightened her grip on the hem of her shirt and said firmly, “Leroy, we are done.”
Suddenly, there was a “click” sound, indicating that the lock had been opened.
Behind Leroy, a person suddenly fell down, just about to hit the ground hard when they were pulled back by a rope.
“Ah- Jolie screamed in shock, her pupils dilating as she realized the person hanging was Kaeden.”
“Darling, I give you two choices, either he dies, or you come back with me.”
Jolie smiled bitterly, he was still the same, not changed at all. She thought that after she left, he would at least have a little regret for her, but she was
wrong.
Leroy was still Leroy. A rebellious leader who looked down on everyone.
“Darling, you have three seconds to consider. Although I really don’t want to admit that you care about this bodyguard, I know you too well. You are so kind, you wouldn’t just sit back and do nothing, right?”

Jolie looked deeply at Leroy, a hint of sarcasm appearing on her face. “Leroy, when Jane falsely accused me, why didn’t you think I was kind and innocent, incapable of hurting others?”
Leroy was poked in a sore spot and wanted to defend himself, but Jolie spoke up to answer the question for him, “Because when you care, you get confused. At that time, you truly loved her, so your eyes and heart were only for Jane. After all, when you love someone, you will definitely choose to stand unconditionally by their side.”
“No, darling, I was just feeling guilty and wanted to make amends…”
Jolie screamed in despair, “Don’t disgust me!”
Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at Leroy’s blurred figure, and for the last time, she cried.
“Leroy, when you chose Jane over me and hurt me, did you ever feel guilty?”
“You didn’t love me, you loved yourself from the beginning to the end. You were good to me because I was a substitute for Jane, and you were good to Jane because of inner guilt. It was all for yourself, wasn’t it?”
After a long time, Leroy’s silence was deafening.
He suddenly laughed, laughing wildly, “Darling, even so, you are still mine.”
The next second, the iron rod slammed hard on Kaeden’s body. The man let out a muffled groan, shaking his head fiercely at Jolie, as if to say, “Go, don’t worry about me.”
Leroy also raised an eyebrow and began to count down.

“Three!”
“Two!”
Leroy’s smile and voice froze in an instant.
Jolie took out a knife and pointed it at her own stomach.
