Chapter 8
The children were taken outside by the assistant.
A bunch of people with bruised faces and noses were hauled inside by bodyguards.
Derek looked especially ragged. His once–handsome face was now
swollen. He was pressed to the ground by the bodyguards in a trance, and he looked like he had lost his mind.
Tiffany, who was standing next to him, had her makeup smudged from all the crying. She looked horrible.
As soon as several people in charge came in, they dropped to their knees and apologized profusely to James.
“Mr. Efron, we were wrong. We didn’t know she really was Mrs. Efron, and the little girl was your daughter. We wouldn’t have dared to do all of that even if we were to have all the guts in the world.”
“Yes,” a man in the corner stood up and pointed at Derek and Tiffany, still trembling. “It was these two good–for–nothings who deceived us. They called your wife a prostitute. It’s all their fault. Please forgive us.”
Some were beaten so badly their faces were covered in blood. Their faces were unrecognizable.
James nodded slightly, signaling for them to stop.
He stood up and walked between the crowd. His eyes were sharp. “You mean to tell me, if she weren’t my wife, you could bully her as you pleased and put her in the cold storage?”

Several people had cold sweat trickling down their foreheads as they lowered their heads, not daring to speak.
James snorted coldly. “From now on, all your projects will be permanently blacklisted by the Efron Group.”
Although they wouldn’t go bankrupt after losing support from the Efron Group, their companies would never make a comeback.
James continued to dish out judgment like some lord. “Also, since you all like the cold storage so much, you all can take off your clothes and stay in the cold storage. Don’t worry, I will ask the doctor to monitor your vital signs at all times. I will never put your lives in danger.”
After saying that, James didn’t even look at their pale faces. He waved his hand and ordered the bodyguards to put them away.
Next, it was Derek’s and Tiffany’s turn.
Seeing James gradually approaching, Derek suddenly came back to his
senses.
“What do you want to do? James, don’t think you can bully others just because you’re the richest man in California!”
Derek roared like a defeated dog.
But Tiffany pushed him hard and cried out, “Get lost! It’s all your fault, useless piece of garbage. If you weren’t so incompetent, I wouldn’t have suffered this, you coward!”
As she spoke, she knelt and crawled to James’s feet, deliberately showing her fair shoulders. She put on a smile that she thought was charming and said delicately, “Mr. Efron, I am still young. You can give me a chance to correct my mistakes. As long as you let me go, I’ll do anything.”
Derek was startled by her sudden change of expression. His face turned

red and white, feeling as if he had been cuckolded somehow.
“You bitch, I’m still here! What the hell is wrong with you? You think someone would fall for a slut like you?”
Derek rushed forward angrily and slapped her hard.
Tiffany covered her face and screamed, “Who do you think you are? We’re not married, so why do you care if I seduce another man? Claire was able to climb all the way to the top just like that. I’m younger than her, so why can’t I do the same? Don’t you lecture me like you own me. You smell like an old man. If you weren’t rich to begin with, I wouldn’t be here with you today!”
Tiffany was no longer as gentle and considerate as she usually was at all. She was fighting with Derek as if she had gone mad.
James looked at the two fighting each other with a look of disgust on his face. His voice was as cold as ice
“You think you’re at my wife’s level? You’re not even worthy of sucking up to her. Since you like slapping people so much, let’s see how it.”
He turned and gestured at the bodyguard.

The bodyguard immediately stepped forward and held her down, slapping her like there was no tomorrow.
“One hundred slaps. Throw her into the cold storage and lock her up with them when you’re done.”
Crisp sounds and desperate wails echoed in the room.
James curled his lips and looked at Derek. “As for you, a month ago, when Walsh Group had problems with funding, you got to your knees in my office and begged me to do business with you.

“Didn’t you say you’d work like a slave for me, or something like that?
You insulted my wife and daughter instead. Is this your way of repaying my kindness?”
With every word James spoke, Derek’s face turned paler.
His lips trembled, wanting to say something, but nothing came out in the end.
James raised the corners of his lips nonchalantly and said lazily, “It’s getting cold. Time for the Walsh family to go bankrupt.”
It was obviously a joke, but Derek couldn’t laugh at all.
His face looked dead.
He knew that everything was over
James was a man of his word.
Starting tomorrow, Walsh Group will completely disappear from this world.
