I lifted my eyebrows. That was easy.
Once I ended the call, I immediately blocked Edwin. Out of sight, out of mind. Is that really so hard for him to understand?
Three days flew by. Early that morning, Edwin’s parents showed up at my doorstep, kneeling down 99 times, counting each one aloud until they hit the full number.
When I finally opened the door, I saw their knees scraped and bleeding from the repeated kneeling.
I stepped right over them, got into the car, and said, “Take me to the Sullivan’s residence.”
The next time I saw Edwin, his eyes were red as he said, “Agnes, now that you’re here, have you changed your mind? Are you finally ready to come back to me? I’ve been waiting for you.
“I’ve thought a lot these last few days. I now realize you were always the one who treated me the best. You’re the only one who truly loved me.‘
I took out a special tool and stared at the cold gleam reflecting off it, whispering, “You don’t love me, or can’t forget me. You just realized, after everything, that I was the only one who’s ever truly been good to you.”
In my previous life, after we married, he started treating me worse and
worse.

every miscarriage, I’d be in so much pain I could barely see, soaked in sweat from the agony.
He showed no care and only wanted to see Herminie.

“If it hurts, why don’t you just take some painkillers? Why act all dramatic and suffer through it? Trying to play the victim?”
He slammed the door without noticing I had passed out from the pain. My mother couldn’t reach me by phone, but she found me just in time and rushed me to the hospital.
Otherwise, I wouldn’t have lived long enough in my previous life for him to personally shove me off that cliff.
In the next moment, I swung the special tool and jabbed it into his skin. He screamed in agony, veins bulging, eyes nearly popping out.
I gave him 49 needles before stopping and turning to his parents standing nearby.
“This has to continue for three hours. If it doesn’t work, it needs to be repeated.”
Suzanne nodded and fiercely ordered Herminie, who was kneeling beside
her.
“Did you hear me? If you even think about cutting it short by a second, I’ll skin you alive!”
Herminie must have been tortured over the past three days. Her entire body was covered in bruises, trembling uncontrollably; and she didn’t even dare to lift her head.
I couldn’t be bothered with them, so I turned away and sank onto the sofa, leaning against Benedict.

Right there, with Edwin glaring, I casually flirted with Benedict, ignoring everyone else.
Edwin writhed in pain from the special tools, all while hearing Benedict and me kissing nearby. He was nearly furious to the point of rage.
“Agnes, you did this on purpose! You just want to make me suffer, don’t you?” he shouted.
I gently touched Benedict’s cheek and smiled as I replied, “You were the one who chose not to marry me. Don’t blame anyone else.”
“You only have yourself to blame for being foolish, getting tricked, and still helping others count their money.
“As for saving you, it was your parents who knelt down 99 times each to me. You better keep quiet and not disappoint them after all they did for you. If you anger me, they might have to do it all over again.”
Three hours flew by, and when I checked on Edwin, I suddenly frowned.
“How did this special tool fall out? Who pulled it out?”
