Chapter 6
His voice wasn’t loud, yet it rendered the entire hall deathly silent, as if the air had frozen
solid. The atmosphere plunged to freezing temperatures.
Despite the chill, my heart felt like it was on fire, my eyes brimming with tears, and my voice choked without my permission:
“I’ve always hesitated to reveal my identity because I didn’t want special treatment. I simply wish to be an ordinary she–wolf.”
Robert sighed softly and gently brushed away the traces of my tears with his thumb.
“I was too harsh. Don’t cry,” he soothed.
But my tears wouldn’t cease, forcing him to continue gently wiping them away, murmuring comforts to me.
Just then, the crowd began to stir.
People exchanged glances, suddenly turning

their accusations toward the hotel:
“What kind of five–star service is this? The staff
are utterly disgraceful!”
“Luna Wendy dresses a bit modestly and gets mistaken for a beggar?”
“She explicitly said she was searching for pup’s shells, yet they insisted on kicking her out!”
The hotel manager broke out in a cold sweat and approached with trepidation:
“A–Alpha Robert, it’s all a misunderstanding! We assumed this lady…”
“You assumed my Luna was a thief?”
Robert squinted his eyes dangerously.
“You publicized her high–resolution photos in the lost and found notice, explicitly claiming she’s a thief.”
“Her phone screen saver is a family portrait. Are you all blind?”

The hotel manager lowered his head, sweat. pouring down his forehead.
“We assumed the photo was photoshopped, as none of us have met the Luna of the Nightfall
pack, so we…”
“Bang!”
Robert sudden kicked over the nearby trash
can, eliciting a shiver from everyone present.
“A mistake is a mistake. I won’t listen to
excuses,” he said, his voice cold as ice. “Now,
apologize to my mate immediately, or else…”
He cast a glance around the room, his lips. curling into a cold smile:
“From this day forward, no member of the Nightfall pack or allied packs will patronize your hotel.”
Everyone there understood the weight of these words. In the wolf alliance, no one would risk. offending the Nightfall pack for the sake of a mere hotel.

As scornful eyes from surrounding guests fell upon them, the hotel manager and the staff finally comprehended the magnitude of their blunder.
Both bowed deeply to us:
“Alpha Robert, Luna Wendy, we were wrong. We sincerely apologize to both of you. We are truly
sorry.”
“Your stay tonight is complimentary. Is this an acceptable compensation?”
The haughty waiter from earlier now looked at me pleadingly, eyes full of desperation.
I replied coldly:
“Save your words for the wolf alliance enforcers. If the person standing here today wasn’t the Luna of the Nightfall pack but rather a common Omega, they’d likely be at the police station now, not receiving your apology.”
As the sound of police sirens drew nearer, the waiter dropped to his knees in terror and pointed at Sophia, crying out:

“It’s her! She’s the one who told me Luna
Wendy was stealing phones! We were misled by
her!”
Sophia’s face turned ashen:
“Nonsense! I’ve been with Mason the whole
time. How could I possibly have spoken with a
mere waiter?”
“Sophia, if you say so, let’s check the surveillance!” the waiter risked it all.
Sophia took half a step back, feigning
calmness:
“I’m an attorney of the Blackstone pack. Think carefully about the consequences of accusing
me.”
The waiter found himself at a loss for words,
glancing at the approaching police officers, and dropped to his knees before Robert, pleading incessantly.
“Alpha Robert, you must believe me! It was her who sought to frame Luna Wendy…”

“I can testify.”
Mason suddenly stepped forward, his gaze complicated as he looked at me. “Sophia did
speak with him. As for the specifics, I’m not
aware.”
