Chapter 6
Still no sign of Brielle. But Caden stumbled onto something else.
While chasing down surveillance footage, the auction house owner sent over a clip- then added with a smirk,
“Alpha, that side chick of yours? She’s trouble. Dangerous. Fun to mess with, sure, but don’t let her play you.”
Caden frowned. “Lilith’s a pack sister. Not a lover. My mate is Brielle. Always has been.”
The guy gave him a look like he’d grown a second head.
“Please. Everyone in the territory thinks you two are a thing. You expect anyone to buy the ‘just siblings‘ act? She sure doesn’t.”
A chill crept through Caden’s gut.
He hit play.
The footage showed Brielle at the auction, calm and focused, paying big for a ruby bracelet.
She placed it gently into a gift box–the same one she later handed to Lilith at the birthday party.
Then Caden’s face darkened.
The video shifted. Lilith, slipping cash to a staffer.
The bracelet got swapped for a snake.
Caden went cold.
His hands shook as the next part played out.
The birthday footage said it all.
Right as Caden turned with Lilith in his arms, the snake lunged–sank its fangs into Brielle’s hand.

Caden shot up, chair crashing behind him.
“Why the hell didn’t anyone tell me Brielle was bitten that night?!”
He called for his Beta, fury blazing in his eyes.
The Beta stammered, “Alpha… you were with Ms. Morvain at the healing center. You gave strict orders not to be disturbed.”
