Damian tried to remember, but Seraphina’s face seemed strangely blurred in his memory. All he could recall was her pale face and expression of despair when he rejected her, as well as her silhouette as she dragged her suitcases away into the rain.
It felt like…he had lost something.
Since when did he start to lose that…?
The Seraphina who used to light up at the smallest of kindness, who would proudly declare he was her one and only Alpha….
When did she become so quiet and distant?
Ethan’s distant voice broke his train of thought. “I’m heading back to the Pack Headquarters tonight. If Vivian wants to keep having fun here, you can stay with her.”
Damian snapped his head up and caught a flicker of the same unease in Ethan’s eyes.
Almosť instinctively, he blurted, “I’m heading back tonight, too.”
Ethan said nothing else and silently packed his bags. By the time their car returned to the Pack, it was already the next evening. On the drive back, Damian’s heart pounded faster.
That strange, ominous feeling was suffocating him.
When they got home, the house felt empty. There wasn’t a trace of Seraphina left.
An older Omega maid approached.
Damian handed his coat and tried to sound casual as he asked, “Seraphina isn’t home yet?”
The maid shook her head, her voice flat. “Miss Seraphina hasn’t come back at all.”

Damian frowned. “It’s been over a week. Tomorrow is Blood Oath Day. Why is she not back yet?”
The maid had stayed with Silvermoon Pack for many years and watched the three of them grow up. She had always cared
deeply for Seraphina.
Her voice sounded even colder as she said, “I have no idea.”
Before Damian could ask more, Vivian swayed in and leaned into his arm. “Damian, I’m dizzy… Our Mating Ceremony is
coming up. Can we talk about it for a bit?”
Damian looked at her forced theatrics, and he suddenly felt a burst of irritation. He couldn’t stop seeing Seraphina’s stubborn,
determined look as she left in his mind. Her decisiveness made his heart race.
5.Alpha, you clearly don’t care about Miss Seraphina anymore.
The maid turned to the kitchen, muttering under her breath,
Why pretend to ask?”
The maid’s words sliced deep into Damian’s heart. He shoved Vivian away and went upstairs, opening Seraphina’s bedroom
door.

The room was completely empty. He searched every corner, finally realizing just how much she had taken with her.
Every trace of her had been wiped away.
The unease in his heart quickly morphed into full–blown panic.
He sat on the sofa and checked his phone… There wasn’t a single missed call or message from Seraphina, either.
Why had she not come home?
He scrolled through his logs repeatedly before finally giving in and calling Skylar, Seraphina’s mentor. The call connected quickly, and the elderly Healer’s steady voice came from the other side.
Damian beat around the bush for a long time before finally asking awkwardly, “Seraphina’s with you, right? She hasn’t given you too much trouble, has she?”
Skylar sounded shocked and confused. “Alpha Damian, why are you asking that? She’s not with me.”
Damian’s mind went blank, his head throbbing painfully. He gripped his phone tighter, stubbornly insisting, “That’s impossible! She has nowhere else to go but you!”
Skylar’s voice grew heavy.
“Alpha Damian, I sent her off to a closed–door training. As her mate, don’t tell me you don’t understand that there’s no telling when she’ll be back once she leaves for the training. She said that this is what you wanted.”
Damian’s phone suddenly slipped from his hand as he lost his grip. It fell to the floor with a loud thud.
