From afar, she saw a familiar car parked nearby and someone standing at the orphanage gate.

He frowned in disgust. They looked like a bunch of little pests gathering.

“You’re not my dad’s daughter,” Marvin said bluntly, his eyes dark. “From now on, stop trying to claim any relationship with my father”
His words hit Chloe like a blow to the head, and she froze.
All her hopes shattered instantly, and she asked uncertainly, Tm not his child?”
That’s right, you’re not,” Marvin replied coldly. “Don’t tell people you have a dad anymore.”

“Chloe, your dad’s dead!”
Marvin snapped at them. “Your dad’s dead”
The kids paused, made silly faces, and ran away. “Our dads are already dead!”
He felt disgusted. Ihat good could possibly come out of a place like this? Chloe was no different from these children!
Chloe was still dazed, but one thought remained in her head. “Wait here, I have a gift for you.”
She ran back on her short legs, and Marvin frowned, watching her briefly before turning and getting into the car.
Inside, Andres and his other two sons silently watched Marvin.

Chloe quickly rushed back to the gate holding the card, only to find the black car had already driven away.
She shouted, “Wait!““”

She squeezed through the gate and ran out, holding the card high. “Wait! Wait! Please wait for me!”
