Gavin even dreamed about Cecilia. Hearing him whisper Cecilia’s name in his sleep, Stella’s jealousy flared, and she thought, I’m not Cecilia. Gavin still can’t forget her. I hope she never comes back, so this position will be mine!
Just then, footsteps approached, and Stella quickly put on an innocent expression. When she saw that it was Charles returning, she sweetly greeted him, “Mr. Lewis.”
“Has Gavin still not woken up?” Charles asked, just as Gavin opened his eyes.
“Cecilia?” His voice was hoarse.
Charles frowned and sighed, helplessly saying, “Cecilia doesn’t want to come. The misunderstanding between you two is something only you can explain to her.”
Gavin didn’t respond.
Stella seized the opportunity to stir things up, “Cecilia is really too much. Mr. Foster got into a car accident because of her, and she can’t even come to check on him. She clearly doesn’t care about Mr. Foster.”
Charles glared at her, his voice cold as he reminded, “Ms. Yates, the relationship between Gavin and Cecilia is not for you to judge.
“No one knows better than I do how good Cecilia has been to Gavin. Remember your place, and stop speaking out of turn.”
“Yes, Mr. Lewis.” Stella’s expression was full of grievance after being scolded, and what hurt her more was that Gavin didn’t. speak up for her.
Gavin, feeling dizzy, closed his eyes to rest, yet he couldn’t help but think, ‘Yeah, everyone knows how much Cecilia loves me. I know that too. But why hasn’t she come to see me? She must be struggling, not coming to care for me!
Later, Gavin drifted back into sleep. In his dream, he vaguely saw Cecilia sitting by his bed, watching over him.
At 6 a.m., when Gavin woke up and saw that the bedside was empty, he suddenly longed for Cecilia. With his body still feeling weak, he got up and left the hospital.

Cecilia woke up at 7 a.m., feeling refreshed. It was her first day not having to work. Though she woke up early, now she could freely manage her time, feeling even more relaxed.
She drove to the biggest supermarket nearby to fill up her fridge. After parking, she carried her groceries back, only to see a familiar figure standing at the villa’s entrance.
“Cecilia, are you worried about me?” Gavin, wearing a hospital gown with bandages around his forehead, looked pale and
weak.
Cecilia stopped in her tracks and stared at him without answering.
Gavin smiled at her, then glanced at the fresh ingredients she was holding. Confidently, he said, “I knew you’d care about me. Are you bringing me breakfast to the hospital? Just open the door, I’ll go in and eat.”

Cecilia found his confident words laughable. “You really did hit your head; the injury must be serious.”
“So you regret not coming to see me at the hospital yesterday, don’t you?” Gavin confidently concluded.
The morning air was cold, and he had been standing there for a while. With both his calls and messages blocked, he had no way to reach her.
“I didn’t eat anything yesterday, and I’ve been waiting here for a long time. I’m a little cold. Could you make something hot for me?” Gavin turned around, maintaining his usual arrogant attitude.
Cecilia’s expression hardened, her gaze turning cold. “This is my house. I didn’t invite you in. You should go back to the hospital.”
Gavin’s smile immediately faded. Seeing her indifferent attitude, his emotions flared. “Are you still angry? Do you know why I had the accident yesterday? It was because I went to the bridal shop and saw the shredded wedding dress…”
“If you saw it, you should understand my feelings,” Cecilia interrupted, her voice cold. “I’ve made myself clear. What more do you need to hear? I don’t want my life disturbed. Please leave.”
Gavin’s anger flared. He hadn’t expected to be shut out so bluntly. “Cecilia, are you done with this? Do you really want me to apologize first?”
He felt the pain in his head again, emotions overwhelming him, pressing him to compromise. “Fine, let’s say it’s my fault. I apologize now. Are you satisfied? If I beg you, will you come back home with me?”
Cecilia remained unmoved. “No need. Your matters have nothing to do with me.”
At that moment, Gavin felt a deep, frustrating anger. “I apologized. What more do you want?”
“I don’t need your apology at all, you’re the one who’s lingering here,” Cecilia was running out of patience. She was worried the ice cream in the bag might melt.
Gavin seemed not to hear her response and continued with his self–righteous analysis. “You’re not happy because I placed Stella in the Secretary Division, right?
“Fine, I’ll transfer you back. You can see with your own eyes that nothing happened between us. Is that enough?”
“I’ve resigned,” Cecilia responded coldly, rejecting him with every word.
“Then don’t resign. Come back to me, like before!” Gavin snapped, losing control. “I told you, I never agreed to break up. Cecilia, do you want me to beg you? I won’t agree to the breakup or your resignation!”
Cecilia hadn’t expected him to become so unreasonable. “Gavin, is your head damaged? Why can’t you understand?” As she spoke, she tried to move around him to leave.
Gavin blocked her path and grabbed her wrist firmly. His eyes were slightly red, and he spoke in a strained, low voice. “It’s you who doesn’t understand. As long as I don’t agree with the breakup, we just can’t break up.”
In this relationship, he had always been used to being the dominant one.
Cecilia didn’t want to waste more time with him. She didn’t struggle too much, not wanting to drop the groceries in her
hand.

After a moment of tense silence, she decided to try a different approach. “Let go of me first, I can’t open the door.”
Gavin sighed in relief. “Now you know how to behave? If you want me to comfort you, just stop when you get what you want. A little temper is fine, but don’t use a breakup to threaten me. Alright, this matter is over now.”
With those words, Gavin calmed his anxious emotions. He was sure that Cecilia still cared about him, just pretending to be indifferent.
“I haven’t been sleeping well lately. After breakfast, can you stay with me for a while?” Gavin asked.
Cecilia didn’t respond. She opened the door and stood in the doorway, saying, “Wait here.”
Gavin was confused at first, but then he noticed the construction materials piled up in the villa’s yard.
“Your villa’s still under renovation and messy, huh? You’re always so considerate, knowing I’m injured and can’t deal with the dust. Alright, let me know when you’re done, and I’ll come in,” Gavin said.
Cecilia didn’t deny it. As soon as she entered the villa, she immediately dialed the hospital. “Your patient has escaped.”
