Seth’s eyes widened in shock. “What?! What aunt?!”
Ryan wheeled past him and came straight to my side. “Tonight is Lulu and my wedding. Didn’t you know?”
I looked up with a smile. “I told him, but he just wouldn’t believe it.”
Seth stood there stunned. “That’s impossible! My parents
went to the Bennett house to arrange my engagement! You’re supposed to marry me!”
The butler spoke quietly, “Mr. Seth Garner, the engagement was always with Mr. Ryan Garner.”
Seth clearly still didn’t believe the butler’s words.
He straightened his suit and grabbed my hand, trying to appear calm:
“Lulu, stop playing these childish games.”
“Let’s just get through the ceremony quickly. Ash is still waiting for me.”
I instinctively pulled my hand away, but he just sneered. “Even though tonight is our wedding night, I won’t be coming back to stay with you. I promised Ash I’d spend it with her.”

Back then, I naively thought that once we were married, he might gradually come to accept me.
So after the wedding ceremony ended, I tried everything to make him stay.

When Seth found out, he acted like he didn’t care, but on our wedding night, he blindfolded me with red silk and gave me to another man.
Now, looking at him, I felt nothing but disgust.

Just as Seth was about to say something more, the butler handed him an invitation. “Mr. Seth Garner, this invitation has been in your room all along. You just never went back to look at
it.”
Only then did he carefully read the contents of the invitation.
A few seconds later, his hands began to tremble slightly, panic flashing in his eyes before he demanded, “Ryan, are you putting on an act with her?”
Ryan replied calmly, “After tonight, she’ll be my wife, Seth. It’s time you faced reality.”

Seth suddenly laughed, his smile carrying mockery. “Lulu, you’ve been chasing after me for ten years. How could you possibly be willing to marry someone else?”
“Especially someone who’s paralyzed from the waist down?”

He flew into a rage and grabbed my wrist, trying to drag me
away.
Seeing this, Ryan panicked and was about to stand up from his wheelchair.
I quickly broke free from Seth’s grip and gently placed both hands on Ryan’s shoulders.
I knew he was pretending, but I also guessed he had his reasons for faking his paralysis. I didn’t want him to expose himself so early just for my sake.
I turned toward the banquet hall entrance and said, “The guests are already arriving, Seth. Don’t embarrass the Garner family!”
With that, I pushed Ryan’s wheelchair and walked away.
“Lulu!” Seth roared behind me. “If you turn back now and stop this charade, I can pretend nothing happened.”
“But if you don’t turn back, when my parents get here, I’ll definitely call off our engagement! I’ll make you the Pughingstock of the entire city!”

I ignored him completely and kept walking forward.

Once we were out of Seth’s sight, Ryan asked me quietly, “You know there’s nothing wrong with my legs, don’t you?”
“Yes,” I replied softly. “But I also know you have your reasons. You can tell me when you’re ready.”
The wedding ceremony officially began, and my father walked me slowly down the red carpet.
Since this was a hastily moved-up wedding, the Garner couple had just rushed back from out of town.
Seeing them arrive, Seth breathed a sigh of relief and then strode onto the stage.
All the guests’ eyes turned to him in unison.
He straightened his sleeves and said with a face full of mockery, “Thank you all for coming tonight, but I’m sorry…”
“The Garner family will absolutely never allow such a vicious, scheming woman to marry into our family!”
“I’m here to announce that I’m calling off my engagement to
Lulu!”
