“Don’t think I’m clueless about what happened to Skylar. You knew all she wanted was to win that piano competition, but you still had her right hand cut off! And Michelle-she ended her life by cutting her wrist because she loved you, but instead of owning up to it, you blamed everything on Skylar!
“Javier, sometimes I wonder if you even feel guilty at all. You loved her for a long time and begged me to let her marry you. Did you already forget that?”
Javier’s head shot up.
He did like Skylar. He made a vow at their wedding to protect her forever. But what had he done?
He always knew Michelle had feelings for him. He didn’t stop her, and now look where that led.
Dropping to his knees, he pleaded with Anthony.
“Grandpa, I messed up. I’m going to go find Michelle right now and clear everything up. I’ll ask Skylar to give me one more chance!”
Before Anthony could reply, Javier threw the door open and ran off.
Javier had Michelle stay in a separate part of the house. She snapped the roses in her hand in half.
“Thanks to you, I finally got rid of Skylar.”
She tossed the broken roses to the floor and crushed them under her high heels.
“Just knowing this was Skylar’s favorite flower makes me sick! And Javier? What an idiot. He tortured his woman over something so common.”
Clara shook her head sarcastically and was about to say something when the door burst open.
Javier stormed in, marched up to Michelle, and grabbed her neck.
“What did you just say?!”
He had been thinking of making it up to her, but then he overheard her admitting everything.
“So you were behind all of it? Everything I did to Skylar was part of your plan?”
Michelle couldn’t breathe. She scratched at his hands, gasping and sobbing.
“Javier…”
He finally let go, glaring at her.
“You’re getting it all wrong,” she said, trying to climb into his arms. “I didn’t mean that. I just came back.”

But he shoved her away. Then, he pointed at Clara.
“Spill everything. If you don’t, I’ll treat you the same way I treated Skylar!”
Clara froze in fear.

“I’ll say it! Michelle faked her death. She thought Skylar wasn’t good enough for you, so she pretended to kill herself at your wedding. Then she disappeared and had me stir up drama between you two.
“It hurt Skylar and made Michelle seem more important to you. She also got to enjoy herself while hiding. Now that she’s done playing around, she’s back to marry you.”
Javier’s eyes dropped to the scattered roses on the floor.
“What about the roses?”
Michelle sneered. “I used them to trick you… because Skylar loved roses.”
