Samuel watched the scene unfold and sneered.

Caryn’s eyes shifted nervously as they met Samuel’s, but she steadied her voice and snapped, “What spouting? Everyone knows Callum only ever saw Diana as an older sister. She was his brother’s
sister–in–law!”
That word–sister–in–law–landed like a weight on Callum’s back, making him slump forward slightly.
For once, his face twisted with genuine self–loathing.
“You’re right,” he muttered. “I only saw Diana as my brother’s girlfriend.”
He turned to Samuel, his voice low but steady. “If you’re a man, you’ll go to her and apologize properly. She lost a child
because of you. If you keep pretending like nothing happened, don’t blame me for what I’ll do.”
Samuel rolled his eyes and muttered, “Idiot.” Then, brushing the dust off his clothes, he turned and walked back into the
studio.
Callum’s face darkened again. Gritting his teeth, he pulled out his phone.

“Have you found out where Diana went?”
A voice on the other end gave him an address, but Callum hung up before the speaker could finish.
Caryn, relieved that her secret hadn’t been exposed, stepped forward and took Callum’s hand.
