Before Tina could finish speaking, Liam interrupted, saying, “You ought to know that 60 thousand dollars isn’t pocket change, Kiara. What exactly is your game? If you dare tarnish the family’s reputation, then don’t bother showing your face here again. You’re nothing but a worthless, shameless wench!”
Tina feigned innocence, cowering behind Liam. Her eyes, however, glinted with amusement as she watched me.
It had always been the case. It seemed that no matter the situation, a single word from Tina was all it took for them to alter
their stance and cruelly push me down.
Henry, as if suddenly grasping the situation, stated, “You’re just putting on another show, Kiara. I’m genuinely curious about how you plan to raise that money. If you can’t produce it, then just get out of here!”
Karen, nodding in agreement behind him, chimed in, “It’s clear to me that you never truly learned your lesson after all these
years.”
I furiously clenched my fists, then slowly released them, saying, “I’ll sever all ties with you guys for good once I return the
money.”
They all nodded in agreement. “If you fail to return it, then you’ll go straight back to the White family, Kiara. You won’t be permitted to leave until you’ve learned your lesson.”
I looked at the people before me, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. I was about to finally be rid of them, once and for all.
