Time Ch 17

Chapter

My life came to an end on the day Freddie got married

I saw his grand, extravagant wedding ceremony through the media’s coverage

However, he didn’t look happy. His expression was solemn, as if weighed down by something

Still, he steadily slipped a beautiful diamond ring onto Bianca’s finger

The moment they kissed, I closed my eyes

I didn’t know if people always saw strange illusions on the brink of death. In mine, I was standing on a cold dune, watching Freddie walk right past me into an endless darkness

Instinctively, I wanted to chase after him. But no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn’t catch up

The moment his figure completely disappeared, I abruptly opened my eyes

What I saw were blooming camellias. I was sitting on a wicker chair in the veranda

The pouring sunlight stung my eyes. Everything felt like a dream- -a delirious vision at the edge of death

As I was in a daze, a housekeeper suddenly came over and asked what I wanted for dinner

Snapping back to my senses, I grabbed her hand in a panic. Where’s Freddie?”

She gave me a strange look, hesitant to answer

My voice rose anxiously. Answer me!”

Looking conflicted, the housekeeper finally spoke with great caution. Ms. Hunter, Mr. Sanford passed away three years ago…

At that moment, I didn’t even know how to describe my feelings. Something in my skull seemed to explode with a buzzing

roar, making me dizzy

Did she just mention that Freddie passed away three years ago? How could that be

What was everything I had just experienced then? Was it just some ridiculous nightmare

After the housekeeper left, I frantically searched the house for any trace Freddie might have left

Traces of him were there, but all of them were old and faded

I refused to believe it. I called his friends one by one. But every answer I received confirmed that Freddie had passed away
