She’s just acting on impulse. I’ll wait for her to divorce.”

That evening, Weston saw Joel’s little stunt.
He’d ignored all the livestream drama before- he knew Lyra was over Joel. But waiting for her to divorce? That crossed a line.
That night, Weston went public.
Windsor Corp announced open deals for any company willing to cut ties with Joel. Just say the word, and they’d slide right in with better contracts.
Joel didn’t back down. He started slashing prices, fighting tooth and nail in every deal that clashed with Windsor Corp.
The whole industry took notice.
“Two CEOs going head–to–head over a woman? Two powerhouse families throwing down like this? Wild,” people whispered.
“Small companies are making bank,” someone else said. “But the Windsors? They’re usually all business. Never thought Weston would lose his cool like this.”
“I mean… wouldn’t you, if someone was trying to steal your wife?”
The rivalry got so intense it reached Dominic Fenwick in his nursing home.
Furious, he left immediately, booked a private jet, and stormed into Joel’s office in Emmerica.
Joel was mid–call, fighting Weston over some random contract–not even a major one, just another flex.
Dominic burst in, slammed his cane against Joel’s shoulder.
“YOU FOOL! You’ve dragged our name through the mud over a woman!” he roared. “The last bit of respect between our families–you just burned it to the ground!”
His chest heaved, eyes blazing. The rage nearly took him out.
His health had been declining since last year. That’s why he’d stepped back, letting the younger generation take
over.
And Joel–his favorite grandson–had always been the pride of the family. Even when he was stuck in a wheelchair, the kid was pulling off wins most people only dreamed about.
Now? Dominic was so furious, he nearly collapsed on the spot.
Joel dipped his head, eyes clouded with regret.
“Grandpa, I’m sorry… but I can’t give up on Lyra.”
Crack!
Dominic’s cane slammed down again, eyes sharp with fury.
Normally calm, he exploded.
“Kneel!” he barked. “The Windsors and Fenwicks have been rivals for generations, sure–but we kept it clean.

Business. Society. Never like this! Now you’ve dragged Lyra into a public circus. Do you know how humiliating that is? Where am I supposed to hide my face?!”
Joel hadn’t slept more than two hours a night, caught in a nonstop war with Weston. The hits left him lightheaded, barely staying upright.
But he didn’t flinch. He dropped to his knees.
“Grandpa, please… Just help me meet her. If you ask, she’ll come. She’s soft–hearted..: she’ll listen to you.”
