Feeling the pressure of everyone’s stares, Taryn hurried to Cassia’s side, only to be slapped hard across the face. Cassia didn’t hesitate, as if she wanted to disown her on the spot.

Sitting on the floor, Taryn clutched her face in disbelief. When Cassia’s words finally registered, it was like a bolt from the blue.
I shot Kieran and Orion a quick glare. “I’m fine.”
They both immediately gave me puppy–dog eyes.

“Isadora… is the Luna? That’s impossible…”
When Taryn got a clear look at Kieran’s face, her eyes glinted with excitement.
A woman named Taryn Finch, one of Cassia’s cronies who had just arrived and didn’t know the situation, suddenly said loudly, “Isadora, where did you find these two actors? They’re quite good.”
Kieran’s brow twitched, and one of his guards immediately stepped forward and, without a word, dragged Taryn out.
But I had worn the one–of–a–kind necklace and had admitted my bond with Kieran. It was their own blindness and arrogance that led them here.
Kieran pulled me into an embrace, his cold gaze sweeping across the room. “What, exactly, did you do to my mate over the past few days? I suggest someone volunteer the information. If I have to find out the truth myself, I promise I will repay it a hundredfold.”
Kieran and Orion immediately stiffened, their gazes turning cold and murderous. “Do you even know what you’re doing?”
“Taryn, if you want to die, if you want to offend the Alpha Supreme and Luna of the Lycan Council, go right ahead. But don’t drag me down with you.”
Meanwhile, the pack healer was already tending to my wound. The sting of the
medicine made me flinch.
“Hey, handsome, stop wasting your time as an extra. You’re good–looking. If you’re willing to be with me, I can support you. I pay much better than this broke nobody.”
